The Masters of Magic are back and this time they have a few new tricks up their sleeves, in The Great Albini 2 by Microgaming partner, Foxium!

Foxium are back in the limelight with a new sequel to the original, The Great Albini which was released in 2019. Foxium has gone above and beyond to perfect their act in The Great Albini 2, with an exciting Boost Bet, a Money Gem Collection feature and magical Free Spins all up for grabs.

In terms of appearance, you can see that Foxium has given it a little makeover from the original, but not a lot has changed in all honesty.  For anyone who likes to see every little detail up close and personal, you may be a little disappointed with the layout of The Great Albini 2. Although the design hasn’t improved much, we can’t wait to see the new and improved magical features in action!

The Great Albini 2 Betting and Symbols

The Great Albini 2 has a variety of betting options available for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.20 (£/€0.30 with Boost Bet active) per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€24 (£/€36 with Boost Bet active) per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

The highest paying regular symbol in The Great Albini 2 is Albini, followed by Lily, Knives and Lucky Cups. Lower paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten.

Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Scatters, Money Gem and Collect symbols.

The Great Albini 2 Base Game and Features

The Great Albini 2 is a 5 reel slot with 40 fixed paylines. In order to form a win you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The Great Albini 2 has an exciting Money Gem Collection feature available in the base game, which is more than enough to keep you thouroughly entertained. There is also a Boost Bet option available. More on these below.

Money Gem Collection Feature

During the base game, you will come across coloured Gem symbols. The Gem symbols are only present on reels 1, 2, 3 and 4.

These Gem symbols all come equipped with a Cash Value attached to them. In order to be awarded the Cash Values on the Gem symbols, you will need to land a Collect symbol on Reel 5.

• Blue Gems – Award a Cash Value between 1x and 9x your bet.
• Purple Gems – Award a Cash Value of 10x, 12x, 15x or 20x your bet.
• Red Gems – Award a Cash Value of 25x, 30x, 40x or 50x your bet.
• Collect Symbol – The Collect symbol may inlcude its own Multiplier between 2x and 5x.

Any Multiplier that is awarded, will be applied to the total value of Gem symbols on the reels.

Boost Bet

Activating the Boost Bet feature will cost an additional 50% your current bet.

Once active, additional Money Gem and Collect symbols are added to the reels.

In additon to this, during the Respins round, the chance of landing Albini Multipliers and Lily Extra Spin symbols is increased.

The Great Albini 2 Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 3 Respins.

During the Free Spins round, only Money Gems, Albini Multipliers and Lily Extra Spin symbols may land on the grid. Each time one of these symbols land, the Respins meter is reset back to 3.

• Money Gems – Similar to the Money Gem Collection feature, each coloured Gem that lands will award a Cash Prize. Blue Gems award a value between 1x and 5x, Purple Gems award a value of 10x or 20x and Red Gems award a value of 50x your bet. All Money Gem symbols will remain in their positions for the duration of Respins.
• Albini Multipliers – Albini Multipliers can award a Multiplier between 1x and 5x. This Multiplier will then be added to the current Multiplier of the Free Spins round. The Multiplier is applied to all Money Gem symbols. Albini Multipliers will be removed from the grid with the next Respin.
• Lily Extra Spin – Landing a Lily Extra Spin symbol, awards an additional Respin to the current meter. Lily Extra Spin symbols will be removed from the grid with the next Respin.

Bonus Grand Prize

The Bonus Grand Prize will be awarded when 20 Money Gem symbols land on the reels.

The Grand Prize award is a whopping 20,000x your bet!

The Grand Prize will be added to the total amount won in the Free Spins round.

The Great Albini 2: Our Verdict

Foxium are a stand out Microgaming partner in our eyes. All of them are great of course, and each brings something to the table of great value, but Foxium is one of our favourites.

The Great Albini 2 may not be as alluring as Cossacks The Wild Hunt, which in our eyes is still their greatest release, but it’s certainly magic at times.

The Great Albini 2 has staggering 20,000x win potential, and moments of excitement are definitely there due to the Free Spins round, which can really put you on the edge of your seat if you get some of those Albini Multipliers in the mix.

It seems like an age ago now that we were graced with the original Great Albini, and when you compare it to the sequel, it’s evident that big improvements has been made in every aspect, as good sequels should do.

Overall, The Great Albini 2 might not wow you as much as Cossacks The Wild Hunt, but if you want to see a show then The Great Albini 2 has it.
