The Last Sundown Theme

The Last Sundown has a rather unique looking ‘hand-drawn texture’ style seen before in popular video games like The Borderlands.

As soon as you load it up, you’ll be instantly interested by this dystopian world with its unique art and suspenseful music. Every now and again, a hologram of one of the saviors or villains will pop up to the left of the screen to encourage your journey, or discourage you with an intimidating voice line or two.

The Last Sundown certainly is an interesting premise from Play’n GO, and we think it’s quite impressive. It’s easy to cling to the safety net of timeworn themes, but unique concepts like this really makes it stand out.

The Last Sundown Betting and Symbols

The Last Sundown has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available is £/€0.10 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€50 per spin, with plenty of options in between the two.

The highest paying regular symbol in The last Sundown is Rae, followed by Devin, Tuco, Lauro and the Dog. Lower paying symbols fall to the Laser Gun, Grenade, Revolver, Axe and Knife.

If we’re honest, the Splitting Symbols feature isn’t the most exciting feature we’ve come across before but that doesn’t mean it lacks in potential.

Splitting Symbols

During each base game spin, a random symbol is selected to Split.

Each instance of the selected symbol that lands on the reels will automatically split into two.

Any of the symbols can be chosen as a splitting symbol, excluding Scatters.

The Last Sundown Free Spins

During any base game spin, landing 3 or more Scatters on any of the reels will trigger the Bonus round, awarding 8 Free Spins.

Before Free Spins begin, a symbol is chosen at random to become a Splitting Symbol, and an additional symbol is randomly selected for Collection. (Excluding Scatters)

By collecting 5 of the Collection symbol, the collection symbol will unlock and transform into a Splitting Symbol and a new Collection symbol will be chosen. The Last Sundown Our Verdict

The Last Sundown may not offer anything particularly new in terms of gameplay with mechanics that remind us of their older title Shimmering Woods, but it certainly impressed us with its concept, design and backstory.

The opening introduction to The Last Sundown gives you a little bit of lore behind this dystopian world, and the characters and their struggle for dominance makes for a very interesting story.

Will The Last Sundown be Play’n GO’s most popular title? Probably not, but it’s not a bad slot by any means. The simple Splitting symbol mechanic does well to keep you entertained during the Base Game, and it really shines for what could be some very exciting gameplay during Free Spins with the collection mechanic.

Play’n GO boast big win capabilities in this one with win potential of up to 36,000x. While we’re skeptical about how realistic this figure is, we definitely do not doubt that The Last Sundown has the potential to pay big!
