Thunderstruck Stormchaser and previous Thunderstruck Games are somewhat of a Games Global staple.

Thunderstruck was given to the trusted and capable hands of Stormcraft Studios in their previous release, Thunderstruck Wild Lightning, and Thunderstruck Stormchaser marks the fifth in the series.

Stormcraft Studios put a lot of resource into making Thunderstruck look as good as it can possibly look, and may we say, Thunderstruck Stormchaser looks as gorgeous as we’d expect. Does the gameplay of Thudnerstruck Stormchaser compliment its beautiful graphics to make it the full package?

Thunderstruck Stormchaser Base Game and Features

Thunderstruck Stormchaser is a 5 reel slot with 1,024 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€25 per spin, with plenty of other betting options in between the two. Looking at statistics, Thunderstruck Stormchaser has a theoretical RTP of 96.10% and a maximum win capacity of 10,200x.

Thunderstruck Stormchaser features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above, filling all empty positions. Once a cascade occurs, there is a chance that more winning combinations will form.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the Lady, followed by the Crows, Throne, the Building with the Blue background, Yggdrasil Tree and the Building with the Purple background.

Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine. There is also a Wild symbol represented by Thor himself which substitutes for all other symbols except Scatters and Multiplier symbols.

Multiplier Symbols

During the base game, Multiplier symbols with values of x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10, x15 and x20 can land randomly across the reels.

Each Mutliplier symbol that appears will be applied to any winning combinations after the Cascading Reels sequence has finished for that particular spin.

Wildstorm Feature

Randomly in the base game, the Wildstorm Feature can trigger.

Once this happens, a Free Spin is awarded which can transform up to 5 reels into stacked Wilds.

Landing 3 or more Scatters in any position across the reels, automatically triggers the Free Spins round.

Once active, you will be met with a Free Spins Wheel which will award a random amount of Free Spins and a starting Multiplier. The size of the Multiplier and the total number of Free Spins increases with the number of Scatters that landed during the initial trigger.

• 3 Scatter Trigger – Awards between 7 and 12 Free Spins and a starting Multiplier of either x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 or x6.
• 4 Scatter Trigger – Awards between 10 and 15 Free Spins and a starting Multiplier of either x3, x4, x5, x6, x8 or x9.

Thunderstruck Stormchaser: Our Verdict

Thunderstruck isn’t quite Thunderstruck without its Wildstorm feature, and thankully its present here.

Making it a feature capable of activating within the Base Game really boosts the appeal of Thunderstruck Stormchaser. Much like a storm itself, Thunderstruck Stormchaser can just roll in and explode at any moment with ferocious intensity. It’s definitely a beloved feature of the Thunderstruck series, and we’re hoping Stormcraft realises it enough to never remove it in potential games yet to come.

The Wildstorm feature can trigger at the end of Free Spins too, tokens permitted. The Free Spins round with its multipliers is exciting enough on its own, but a Wildstorm to round it off really is the chefs kiss.

The Thunderstruck series really has to be appreciated for what it is, and its legacy is understated. The Thunderstruck series is one of the veterans of igaming with its long history, and the way Stormcraft Studios nurtures it really makes it a piece of art in our eyes.

Perhaps we’re romanticising the Thunderstruck series too much, but we appreciate its history a lot, and we appreciate where it is now even more.
