Bienvenido a México in a Mexican outback adventure from Relax Gaming with their new game, Wild Chapo Slot.
Wild Chapo fancies himself as a little bit of a demolitions expert. Expert may not be the right word, maybe Chapo is just a plain pyromaniac.
Either way, the more explosions there are, the better it is for you. With TNT Wilds, Sticky Re-spins and Bonus Bombs to experience, the unfortunate residents of Mexico better run for cover because Wild Chapo is in town.
Relax Gaming have been steady with the releases this year, having most recently introduced their Temple Tumble Megaways Sequel, Templar Tumble.
The life of a Templar Knight is a life of honour, code, and standards, but we’ve left all that behind in favour of explosives and Chaos as we see what Wild Chapo has to offer.
In this Wild Chapo Slot Review, we’ll be checking out the key gameplay mechanics, as well as statistics, to see if Wild Chapo is as explosive as he claims to be.
Wild Chapo comes with an opening cinematic introducing us to Chapo and his crew, as he bursts through the doors of the saloon with his animal compadres. One thing leads to another, and a lit match unfortunately finds its way into the Donkey’s dynamite filled backpack, blowing the saloon to bits in the process.
A nice opening animation introducing us to the crew, and as we look to the game we’ll see that Relax have gone for more of a minimalistic design rather than an extravagant one.
The reel border is simply a wooden structure out in the desolate Mexican desert, with a Skull and a wheel added to the foreground for some extra décor. The soundtrack fits in really well, with a Mariachi sounding song that really enriches the theme of the game.
Relax Gaming are proficient in design, having expertly designed a fair few games in their time. Wild Chapo has a cartoon theme which gives the game a light-hearted feel.
Relax probably could have gone a little more wild with the visuals. The visuals that are there are pretty well done, but they probably could have done more to make it stand out .
Still though, the excitement for Wild Chapo and all of imminent explosions is alive and well. Let’s take a look at the options for betting, as well as the symbol pay outs.
Betting options in Wild Chapo are pretty extensive, covering for all budgets with options as low as £/€0.10 per spin, and as high as £/€100 per spin.
There’s a lot of option in between the two, Relax Gaming always cater to players with different budgets, so rest assured that there is an ideal option for all here.
Looking to the symbols, it’s unsurprising to see that Wild Chapo is the top regular symbol, followed by the Donkey, the Owl and the Chihuahua. Low paying symbols are Spade, Heart, Clubs and Diamonds.
There is a Wild symbol, which substitutes for all except for the Scatter Symbol. The Wild symbol pays, effectively taking the top spot as the highest paying symbol. This will pay 40x your stake for a line of Wilds.
There are some decent wins on offer if you manage to connect some of the higher paying regular symbols too, with Wild Chapo paying out 25x for a line.
Much more than 40x and 25x are up for grabs in the captivating and thoroughly entertaining features within both the Base Game, its features and the Free Spins.
Wild Chapo takes more of a classic stance with a 5×3 reel configuration and 15 pay lines.
To form a win, you need to connect at least 3 symbols from left to right, starting from the left most reel. As already mentioned, the game is capable of some nice wins in the Base Game, and the potential is heightened even further by the presence of some Base Game Features.
One of the first features to note is the Expanding Wild Feature.
A crate may land within the Base Game, which is called the Wild TNT.
When this lands, the Crate will expand upwards, creating more Wilds in the process.
A simple feature, but a potentially effective one nonetheless. This may help tremendously in connecting those much desired connections for some decent Base Game hits.
Even more interesting than the Expanding Wild Feature is the Re-Spin Feature.
The Re-Spin feature will trigger when you land exactly 2 Bonus symbols in the Base game.
Once the feature triggers, the bonus symbols will convert to sticky wilds.
If you land additional Wilds on the Re-Spin, then the reels will spin again.
The feature continues until no more Wilds land on a re-spin.
This is a very exciting feature with the potential to result in some big wins. If you’re lucky enough, then you could end up with a full screen of Wilds, which would be as explosive as Wild Chapo’s dynamite.
Free Spins is triggered when you land 3 or more Bonus Symbols anywhere in view in the Base Game.
The game can be re-triggered during the bonus by landing 3 or more Bonus symbols, in which case an additional 3 spins will be awarded.
Bonus symbols in Free Spins are stored for the Final Spin, at which point they explode, converting themselves into Wilds with a multiplier.
The multiplier corresponds to the number of Bonus symbols stored in that particular position.
The Bonus symbols that triggered the feature are stored once the feature starts, and any that land in any spin thereafter will also be stored.
If there are multiple Wilds with a multiplier on the same win line, then the multipliers will multiply by each other.
The Bonus has the potential to net you some very dynamite wins, wins of up to 10044x in fact.
Wild Chapo Slot has a bonus buy feature for those outside of the UK,
This is available for 60x your stake.
Wild Chapo is yet to be released.
Wild Chapo Slot Releases on 08/04/2021, and will be available to play at most New Casinos!
Wild Chapo has a lot to be excited about, but its partly let down by the fact that all the action is within the last spin of the Bonus.
Some people don’t mind this, but a lot of people think that all but the last spins are a bit hollow. Their function is really only to collect Wilds for a big last spin. This can ruin the anticipation a lot, especially if you get a fair few dead spins leading up to the final.
At least on games where anything can happen on any spin, you can hope that there’s at least one spin that pays off. On Wild Chapo you tend to know relatively early if you’ve got a dud bonus or not.
Still, despite this Wild Chapo is still a decent offering from Relax Gaming, and the Expanding Wild and Re-Spin feature offers some much appreciated excitement to the Base Game, and if the Bonus does go in your favour you may be in for winning up to 10,000x your stake, which is explosive to say the least.
Not Relax Gaming’s greatest instalment to date, but not bad by any means.
