Wild Outlaws Slot Review 2024

Wild Outlaws from Light and Wonder takes us to a place where we always seem to end up sooner or later, The Wild West!

If you’ve been around for more than 5 minutes then you’ve been to the Wild West too through the lense of various slots. It really is one of those timeless themes, and while some grow tired of them, others can’t get enough. Riding horseback through the American Frontier, gun in one hand and lasso in the other seems to be as popular as ever, and to give you your next fix comes Wild Outlaws.

To be successful in Wild Outlaws you’ll need to be the biggest, badest outlaw of them all, and with plenty of features as your ammunition, there’s a fine chance of pulling off the perfect crime.

Premium Play

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Premium Play feature.

Choosing to activate the Premium Play feature will increase your current bet by 1.5x. Once active, the Sherriff Bonus will trigger if a base game win is more than 1.6x the Premium Play bet.

The Sheriff Bonus will reveal 12 Sheriff Badges, each hiding either Multipliers between x1 and x5 or the Free Spins round.

If a Multiplier is revealed, it will automatically multiply the win by its value. If the Free Spins round is revealed, you will return to the base game where the reels will automatically spin in the Free Spins round.

Gamble Feature

Below the Premium Play button sits a special Gamble button. When the Gamble button is active and you win 5x your current bet or more, the Gamble feature is triggered.

If Premium Play is also active at this time, the Gamble will be triggered at 2.5x the Premium Play bet. Once active, the Gamble feature will offer 2 options, either Double your current win or gain entry into the Free Spins round, up to a maximum of 30.

Each option will have its own Wheel and Dial with cash values or a number of Free Spins that can be won. The chance of winning the gamble is represented by a Green section on the wheel. Altering the dials will change the outcome of the Green and Red sections on the wheel.

Both gamble wheels can be played alternatively until it is collected or lost. Landing your cursor in the Red section means that the gamble has not been successful and you will return to the base game with nothing. Each win can be gambled up to 5 times.

Wild Outlaws Wild Revolver Bonus

Wild Outlaws Free Spins

Wild Outlaws gives players a chance to trigger not 1 but 2 exciting Bonus rounds, known as the Wild Revolver Bonus and regular Free Spins. More on these below!

Wild Revolver Bonus

Landing 2 Scatters across the reels may trigger the Wild Revolver Bonus round, but this is not always guaranteed.

Once the Wild Revolver Bonus is active, both triggering Scatters will transform into a Wild symbol, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

During this round, a number of Bullet Holes up to a maximum of 5 will appear across the reels, replacing a number of symbols and transforming them from bullet holes to Wilds.

Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters across the reels will automatically trigger the Free Spins round.

All triggering Scatters will then spin and display a random number of Free Spins between 1 and 6, which will be added together and awarded as your starting number of Free Spins.

Upon entering Free Spins, there are 4 new reel positions above reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Each new reel position is locked via jail bars until they are activated.

Each time a Wild symbol lands on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, a duplicate will move up to the top of the reel and into the jail cell, unlocking the bars.

All Wilds in the new reels will be locked into place for the duration of the Free Spins round, applying to all wins that form during each spin.

When more than 1 Wild symbol is awarded, a random Multiplier value will appear across it. The Multiplier value will increase each time a new Wild symbol is added to the top reel position.

During this time, the Wild Revolver Bonus round can be triggered if 2 Scatters land in view. Landing 3 Scatters during this time will award additional Free Spins.

Wild Outlaws: Our Verdict

Wild Outlaws looks unremarkable as far as Wild West Slots go, but then again, few stand out when there are so many out there.

Without a unique aesthetic to carry it, Wild Outlaws relies solely on its features to leave a lasting impression, but do they miss the mark, or are Light and Wonder the sharpest shooters in the west?

There’s plenty to experience in Wild Outlaws with your staple Free Spins rounds, plus the Premium Play and Sheriff Bonus as added extras. Each of the bring undeniable excitement to the game, and we’re especially fond on how Premium Play can trigger with relatively small wins.

When it comes to potential, Wild Outlaws is sure to please with up to 25,000x as a maximum win. It’s hard to imagine what sort of scenario would make such a win possible, but we’re quite certain that it’s a fairly capable game, even if the max win is more of a simulated figure.

Overall, Wild Outlaws certainly isn’t the biggest and most bold statement when it comes to Wild West Slots, but it’s definitely worth a go.
