Wild Trigger Slot Review 2022

Hold on to your hats, Play’n GO is taking us back out to the Wild West, where outlaws Clint and Dottie are about to pull off their biggest bank job yet, in Wild Trigger!

Working together, Clint McGraw and Dottie Fields have done the unthinkable, and managed to pull off the ultimate bank heist in the West. Now that the job is done, both Clint and Dottie aren’t willing to share the riches with the other. At sundown, this dynamic duo will battle it out in an epic showdown..but only one will walk away with the loot.

In terms of theme, Wild Trigger ticks all the right boxes to qualify as a Wild West slot. The background shows an eerily quiet and dusty town, with birds flying overhead and the odd tumbleweed rolling past. You get the impression that it’s a sizzling hot day, as among all the dust floating in the air there are visible heat ripples.

Whilst Clint and Dottie fight it out, will we be able to swipe the riches from under their noses? Let’s play on and find out!

Wild Trigger Base Game

Wild Trigger Base Game and Features

Wild Trigger is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. In order to form a winning comnbination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbol types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. The minimum bet available here is a rather surprising £/€0.02 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Wild Trigger is the Money Bag, followed by the Dynamite, Guns, Boots and the Liquor Bottle. Low paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also Stacked Wilds present on reels 1 and 5, which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols.

Wild Trigger has an interesting Walkdown Re-Spin feature that bring some much needed excitement to the table. More on this below.

Walkdown Re-Spin Feature

During the base game, landing a fully Stacked Wild on reels 1 or 5, automatically triggers the Walkdown Re-Spin Feature.

Once active, the Stacked Wild will become Sticky and will remain fixed in its position for the duration of the Re-Spin. In addition to this, paylines change to paying in both directions.

The title of this featue is a little misleading at first, making you think that maybe the Stacked Wild might begin to walk from one side of the screen to the next, but sadly this is not the case.

Wild Trigger Free Spins

During either the base game or the Walkdown Re-Spin feature, landing 2 fully Stacked Wilds on reels 1 and 5, triggers Duel Free Spins, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During the Free Spins round, both Stacked Wilds will become Sticky and will remain in their positions for the duration of Free Spins, pretty much the same as the Walkdown Re-Spin feature, only with the extra Wild reel.  Again, paylines will automatically change to paying in both directions.

Wild Trigger: Our Verdict

When choosing a theme that is frequently used in many titles, providers will really need to pull something unqiue and impressive out of the bag, but has Play’n GO done just that? Whilst the Wild West is a terrific theme to go with, Wild Trigger comes across a little dull from the get-go.

Play’n GO may well have pictured Wild Trigger being this ‘macho’ slot, but it’s actually one of the more gentle Wild West titles we’ve played in some time. We aren’t suggesting that Wild Trigger couldn’t deliver a bad ass win every so often, but with a maximum win capacity of 2,000x up for grabs, it’s very unlikely and it’s definitely not worth dueling with your partner over that’s for sure.

With all this dueling going on, it’s nice to see that Play’n GO hasn’t forgotten about their players, delivering an interesting choice of feature to the base game. The feature title, Walkdown Re-Spin is slightly misleading, making you assume that the stacked Wilds will walk from one end of the screen to the other, but it looks like this Cowboy’s/Cowgirl’s nerves got the best of them at a rather crucial time, and instead froze on the spot.

There isn’t much more to say about the Free Spins round either to be honest, other than it’s pretty much the same as the Walkdown Re-Spin, only both stacked wilds are present (both cowering in the corners) and instead of Re-Spins, you’re given 10 Free Spins. The Walkdown Re-Spin feature and the Free Spins aren’t all bad though, opening up a window of potential by changing the paylines to paying in both directions.

All in all, Wild Trigger provides flickers of entertainment at times, but looking closely enough reveals something rather dull when compared to other Play’n GO titles.
