Push Gaming are the masterminds behind some of the more popular slot titles like Jammin’ Jars, Fat Drac and their newest release Fire Hopper. Will Bison Battle deliver in ways that these titles have so many times before? Let’s play on and find out!
Bison Battle Theme
Push Gaming has been know for their great ideas and a great design to match, but Bison Battle does feel a little generic in contrast to other slots.
The reason we think this is because of the North American Bison theme, which all of us has seen many times before. Now we’re not sure if Buffalo and Bison are distinct animals in their own right, but the general consensus is that they’re similar enough, and we’ve certainly had our fair share of Buffalo slots in the past.
It’s just a little bit hard to get truly excited about a theme like this, but for what it’s worth, the graphics are up to the usual high standard that we’ve come to expect from Push Gaming.
Overall, Bison Battle probably isn’t one of Push Gaming’s best in terms of concept and design, but will gameplay win us over?
Bison Battle Betting and Symbols
Bison Battle has a variety of betting options for players to choose from. Bison Battle can be played from as little as £/€0.10 per spin, but for those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.
The highest paying regular symbol in Bison Battle is the Eagle, followed by the Bear, Wolf and Lynx. Lower paying symbols fall to Hearts, Clubs, Spades and Diamonds.
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Red, Blue and Green Bison symbols.
Bison Battle Base Game and Features
Bison Battle is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. In order to form a win you will need to connect 3 or more (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
Bison Battle becomes very interesting when you take into account the different kind of Bison symbols which can trigger different features and bonuses. First up is the Red Bison and the Bison Clash feature!
Red Bison Symbols
During the base game, Red Bison symbols may only land on reels 1 and 5.
A Red Bison symbol that lands on reel 1 will come equipped with an Instant Prize value. An Instant Prize is a bet multiplier which will have a value of either, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 500x, 1,000x or 2500x.
When a Red Bison lands on reel 1 without a Red Bison symbol along the same row on reel 5, it will move one space to the right with each spin. The Red Bison will disappear once it reaches reel 5.
A Red Bison symbol that lands on reel 5 will land with a Multiplier value of either 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x attached to it. The Multiplier can only be applied to a Red Bison with an Instant Prize value.
When a Red Bison lands on reel 5 without a Red Bison on the same row on reel 1, it will move one space to the left with each spin. The Red Bison will then disappear when it reaches reel 1.
The Red Bison symbol with a Multiplier attached to it is also active during the Ice Park and Green Valley feature rounds.
Bison Clash Feature
The Bison Clash feature can only be triggered when a Red Bison symbol with an Instant Prize and a Red Bison symbol with a Multiplier land in view on the same row.
Once active, both of the Red Bisons will charge towards each other on the reels and clash. Once this happens, the Instant Prize amount will be Multiplied by the Multiplier on the other Red Bison symbol.
Bison Battle Ice Park Respins
When a Blue Bison Scatter and a Red Bison Multiplier symbol land in view on the same row, the Ice Park Respins feature is triggered, awarding 3 Respins.
Once active, all high and low-paying symbols are removed, with only Red Bisons and Bison Coins in play.
The Red Bison Multiplier symbols can only land on reels 1 and 5, with all remaining reels left for Bison Coins to land. Bison Coin symbols are Instant Prizes that can have a value of either, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 100x, 250x, 500x, 1,000x or 2,500x. All Bison Coin symbols that land become sticky, and will remain in their position for the remainder of Respins.
If a Red Bison symbol lands on reel 1 or 5, it will charge across the Bison Coin symbols on that row, adding its respective Multiplier to the Bison Coin values.
Each time a Red Bison or Bison Coin symbol lands, the Respins counter is reset back to 3.
Bison Battle Green Valley Free Spins
When a Green Bison Scatter and Red Bison Multiplier symbol land in view on the same row, the Green Valley Free Spins round is triggered, awarding 8 Free Spins.
During the Free Spins round, all Red Bison Multiplier symbols can only land on reels 1 and 5, with Wild Bison symbols only able to land on reels 2, 3 and 4. All Wild Bison symbols that land, will become sticky and will remain in their position until the end of Free Spins.
Once a Red Bison Multiplier symbol lands on reels 1 or 5, it will charge across that row and apply its respective Multiplier to all Wild Bison symbols on that row. If no Wild Bison symbols are present on that particular row, the Red Bison symbol will disappear from the reels.
For each Red Bison symbol that lands, an additional +1 Free Spin is awarded.

Bison Battle Our Verdict
We’ll be the first to admit that we were a little bit disheartened by the somewhat generic theme chosen for Bison Battle, but it didn’t take long for us to be won over.
In hindsight, we were probably naive to be skeptical given how the name behind Bison Battle is Push Gaming. Push Gaming are one of the very few providers where you can expect quality, potential and fun each and every time, and Bison Battle is no exception regardless of its general theme.
The Bison Clash, Green Valley and Ice Park Respins tell a tale of a diverse game with much to experience and huge potential to go with it. Speaking of potential, the highest possible win in Bison Battle is 50,000x, which is akin to what we’ve seen in other recent slots, like Fat Drac.
Overall, Bison Battle is deceptively good if anything. You load it up and expectations are initially low given its regular look but it quickly changes your mind with that classic Push Gaming sprinkle of greatness.
