Since Big Time Gaming created the Megaways mechanic, many providers have taken the opportunity to feature this in at least one of their titles. At first, the Megaways mechanic gained a lot of interest within the iGaming community, and now, with so many available, it’s become a regular function.
There is nothing we haven’t already seen in a Megaways title, so providers need to come up with new ways to make their Megaways titles stand out from the overpowering crowd.
Usually, Mystery symbols go hand-in-hand with a Megaways slot, but MaxWin Gaming has chosen to avoid this altogether. Instead, we’re met with an interesting Fisherman Row feature and Extra Prizes.
Unlike the sliding reel we’ve come to expect in a Megaways slot, MaxWin Gaming has switched theirs out in favour of Yellow and Purple Fishermen symbols. These symbols are able to collect and award Extra Prizes that pop up below their reel or across all 6.
Extra Prizes can reveal between 1x and 100x your bet in the base game, yet they consume a 1x-1,000x your bet value in Free Spins. In addition, Yellow and Purple Fishermen symbols remain in their position above the reels for the entirety of Free Spins, meaning there’s an increased chance of reeling in significant Fish Prizes during this time.
