Gibraltar-based game provider Pragmatic Play has made a touchdown in Brazil, as it now has a license for sports betting in the country.
The leading provider has been approved for its Brazilian license, meaning it can now operate its sportsbook in the country. Currently, Pragmatic Play Sports operates in a few countries, including Germany, the UK, and Spain.
Brazil is already on the rise as one of the fastest-growing regulated betting markets in the world. Recently, another large game provider, Inspired Entertainment, announced its partnership with Brazilian betting operator EstrelaBet to bring its game titles to South America.
For Pragmatic Play, this is a huge turning point because the market in Brazil continues to grow following the fairly recent legalisation of sports betting there.
Will Pragmatic Play Bring Their Sportsbook To Brazil?
Pragmatic Play will likely bring its sportsbook to Brazil soon.
In August 2025, they announced they had partnered with Brazilian-based betting operator Todos Querem Jogar to supply their slots, live casino games, and virtual sports offerings to the Brazilian market. This partnership led to the games being rolled out to Brazilian betting brand Bet do Milhão.
Therefore, it is likely that Pragmatic Play will bring its sportsbook to Brazil soon, with plans to operate the fully-fledged version that is available in other countries there.
Have Plans Been Announced Yet To Bring The Sportsbooks To Brazil?
At the moment, no official announcements have been made by Pragmatic Play concerning the sportsbook. However, the opportunity to bring the sportsbook over is lucrative as it will allow many Brazilian companies and customers to interact with real-time sports data and experience sports betting. Since Pragmatic Play is a trusted brand, they should have no issues attracting customers.
The certification allows the game provider to bring their full sportsbook to Brazil, which includes various markets, bet builders, various types of betting, and a variety of sports to choose from.
Given Pragmatic Play’s experience with sports betting globally, it won’t take long to implement their sportsbook into the market. If they still use Bet do Milhão as the basis for their Brazilian operations, they will easily attract domestic customers. However, they could still facilitate the sportsbook themselves as they have the certification now; they no longer need to use other means to do so.
A Milestone For Pragmatic Play
According to IGaming Brazil, the certification is a milestone for Pragmatic Play. Gareth Crook, Senior Vice President of Sports at Pragmatic Play, told the outlet: “Obtaining certification in Brazil is an important milestone for Pragmatic Play Sports and a clear sign of our commitment to the market.”
He continued, “It ensures that operators can integrate our sports betting product with complete confidence that it meets local regulatory standards.”
With sports betting being legal and regulated since January 2025, who knows where the sports betting industry in Brazil can go from here?
