When it comes to winning combinations, the Cluster Pays mechanic doesn’t work in the traditional sense thanks to the Chaos Clusters format. Chaos Cluster symbols only need to be partially connected either Horizontally or Vertically to count as a winning combination, with a minimum of 5 of the same symbol types.

Azticons Chaos Clusters features Tumbling Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall into position via a Tumble, filling all the empty spaces and possibly creating even more winning combinations.

In additon to this, Azticons Chaos Clusters also has a Turning Twins feature to bring some much-needed fun to an otherwise bland base game. More on this below.

Turning Twins

During the base game, when 2 of the same symbol type and size align on two of the reels, the Turning Twins feature may become active. Only the symbol pair with the highest value and distance between them has a chance of triggering the Turning Twins feature.

Once activated, all high and low-paying symbols, excluding Wilds and Scatters will transform into the same symbol type.

Scatters do not have the ability to activate this feature.

Azticons Chaos Clusters: Sacred Free Spins

Landing 4 or more Scatters in any position on the reels, triggers the Sacred Free Spins round, awarding 7 Free Spins. For every Scatter that lands after the inital 4, an aditional +3 Free Spins are awarded.

Azticons Chaos Clusters: Our Verdict

Quickspin don’t dabble that often in the Cluster Pays mechanic, but when they do they always seem to pull it off quite well. It’s evident that Quickspin dedicated a lot of time fine-tuning Azticons Chaos Clusters, which really shows in the end result. The common Jungle theme is soon forgotten when you get a taste of what Azticons Chaos Clusters can do.

We love that Quickspin like to have a play around with features and mechanics, putting their own unique stamp onto them, which is exactly what they have done here. The Chaos Cluster mechanic works in a way similar to the original Cluster Pays mechanic, but this one opens up for a lot more winning combinations and even longer win chains.

The Free Spins round is probably the best part of Azticons Chaos Clusters, with an increasing Multiplier that has the potential to deliver big hits, along with the help of the Turning Twins feature. After playing for a while, it seems the Turning Twins feature is a hard one to trigger and teases you a lot more than it activates.

Another positive (for those outside the UK anyway) is the Bonus Buy option. Although the price of Sacred Free Spins seems a little higher for a Quickspin slot, we think the price increase is fair given what the Free Spins round can do and the maximum win capacity of 25,000x, plus you get to skip all the base game nonsense and get stuck into the best part.

All in all, Azticons Chaos Clusters isn’t the best Quickspin title to date, but the juicy maximum win capacity and creative feature and mechanic twists make this slot a definite runner-up in our eyes.
