Forge of Fortunes Slot Review 2022

In the deepest parts of the Mines glistening treasures await in Play’n GO’s latest release, Forge of Fortunes!

Get ready to mine precious metals and melt them in the fiery heat of the forge to create beatufiul treasures that will surely be worth a fortune. Keep your eyes peeled for worthless rocks that will push you back on your quest for the purest of Gold. Are you ready to build your fortune?

It’s not the first time we’ve played with fire in one of Play’n GO’s titles. Forge of Gems shares a similar theme and title which makes us wonder if this is the start of a new series of games, or could it just be coincidence?

Play’n GO are joining other Providers by trying their hand at 3 reel slots, but how will Forge of Fortunes compare to titles like Toro 7s, Rise of the Genie and Fire Joker?

Let’s play on and find out!

Forge of Fortunes Base Game

Forge of Fortunes Base Game and Features

Forge of Fortunes is a 3 reel slot with 1 fixed payline. Forge of Fortunes is quite different from what we are used to in terms of winning combinations and symbols.

Gold nuggets are the only winning symbol on the reel set which requires 3 of them in order to trigger the Forging Respins round. Alongside Gold Nuggets, Coal and Slag symbols are in play which are blank symbols that have no real value whatsoever.

Forge of Fortunes does not have the most exciting base game unfortunately. There is nothing on offer in terms of features and is lacking in any real excitement. The only thing you can look forward to is triggering the Forging Respins round which seems to come in more often that not.

Forge of Fortunes: Forging Respins

Landing 3 Gold Nuggets across the reels triggers the Forging Respins round. There is no set amount of Free Spins or Respins awarded, but rather unlimited Respins so long as you continue to land 3 Gold Nuggets across the reels.

During the Forging Respins round, landing 3 Gold Nuggets will move you up the Runner one position. Each runner position has its own Forged Prize, starting at 2x your bet and increases to 3x, 5x, 8x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 30x, 50x, 75x, 100x, 200x, 500x, 1,000x till you reach the maximum win capacity of 2,500x.

If you land a Coal symbol on the 3rd reel during Forging Respins, it will make the runners move backward, downgrading your current Forged Prize to the one before it.

There is also an Alarm feature that you need to listen out for which mixes the Coal with the Gold symbol, resulting in another downgraded Forged Prize. The runner is also fitted with safe runners which can clamp down onto the runner and secure your current Forged Prize, preventing it from downgrading.

Landing a Slag symbol on the reels will end the Forging Respins round.

Forge of Fortunes: Our Verdict

Forge of Fortunes certainly looks the part but takes quite a dramatic turn in terms of gameplay and not in a good way. To say that Forge of Fortunes is lacking is an understatement.

The issue isn’t necessarily the 3 reels which we know can work really well thanks to Elk Studios Toro 7s, but this combined with 1 payline, 3 symbols and no real exciting features makes Forge of Fortunes rather disappointing and a tad boring.

Forge of Fortunes may not be to everyone’s tastes but it will go down well with players who prefer their slots untainted by complex features and confusing Bonus rounds. The Forging Respins round is simple and easy to understand and offers a glimmer of excitement.

In terms of statistics, Forge of Fortunes has a maximum win capacity of 2,500x which is significantly lower than other slots but given that it has a Medium/High Volatility, this is to be expected.

All in all, if you’re new to the world of slots or simply prefer uncluttered gameplay, Forge of Fortunes is a good place to start.
