Prepare for another epic battle in iSoftBet’s second installment of their Olympus trilogy, Olympus Hades Megaways!

Step aside Zeus, Hades has entered the arena and he plans to become the new ruler of the reels, but what kind of tricks does he have up his sleeve to achieve this?

Think of Olympus Zeus and Olympus Hades as having an Angel and Devil on each shoulder, one is light and fluffy and the other is dark and mysterious. Both titles are equipped with Big Time Gaming’s Megaways mechanic, but Zeus and Hades offer their own Modifiers.

Which will come out on top? Let’s play on and find out!

Olympus Hades Megaways Base Game

Olympus Hades Megaways Base Game and Features

Olympus Hades Megaways is a 6-reel slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols (or 2 or more of the highest-paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€12 per spin, with a variety of options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 95.95% and a max win cap of 20,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is Hades, followed by Cerberus, Medusa, and a Vase. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, and Nine. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Scatters.

Olympus  Hades Megaways features both Cascading Reels and an additional Sliding Reel. Each time a winning combination forms, all winning symbols, including those in the Sliding Reel will be removed and new symbols will drop down from above.

When symbols are removed from the Sliding Reel, all remaining symbols will slide over to the left, filling all empty positions. New symbols will then be added to all empty positions on the right.

Max Megaways

During any random base game spin, the Max Megaways modifier can trigger. Once this happens, the reels will award the maximum number of Megaways available, 117,649.

Hades Wilds Modifier

Another modifier to look out for is Hades Wilds, which can trigger during any random base game spin. Once active, Hades will add Wild symbols to the Sliding Reel, with a guaranteed win.

Olympus Hades Megaways Free Spins

Landing 4, 5, or 6 Scatters across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 12, 17, and 22 Free Spins respectively.

During Free Spins, an Unlimited Win Multiplier starting at x1 is activated. After each Cascade, the Win Multiplier will increase by +1.

In addition to this, at any point in the Free Spins round, Hades can randomly award a Walking Wild to the rightmost position on the Sliding Reel.

With each Free Spin, Walking Wilds will move one position to the left and will keep moving doing so until it reaches the leftmost position, where it will disappear.

Walking Wilds can only be used in a winning combination once per spin, after which it will disappear from the Sliding Reel. In the next spin, the Walking Wild will reappear and move one position to the left of its current position.

Hades can award multiple Walking Wilds during the Free Spins round, and up to a total of 4 can appear on the Sliding Reel.

Landing 3 or 4 Scatters during this time will award an additional +5 and +10 Free Spins respectively.

Olympus Hades Megaways: Our Verdict

Olympus Hades Megaways is a great addition to iSoftBet’s Olympus saga, but how does it fare against the almighty Zeus in Olympus Zeus Megaways?

Olympus Hades Megaways has a much darker theme than Olympus Zeus Megaways, which is rather fitting given that Hades is the King of the Underworld, but what did we think of gameplay?

Both Olympus Zeus and Olympus Hades make use of the Max Megaways modifier. This modifier is a great way for players to see the full 117,649 ways to win in action, and the more Megaways you have, the more chance you have of hitting some decent wins.

Both Zeus and Hades work their magic by delivering Wilds to the reels, but in a much different approach. Hades has the power to award Wilds to the sliding reel during any random spin, whereas Zeus will award a random number of Wilds to the main reel set in Olympus Zeus Megaways.

During Free Spins, Hades changes things up a little by introducing Walking Wilds to the sliding reel during any random spin. Thanks to the increasing Win Multiplier that is active during this time, your chances of hitting the max win of 20,000x is much more possible, but can Olympus Hades Megaways deliver such a figure? We look forward to finding out!
