Out of the Ice from Print Studios takes us on an arctic adventure where ancient creatures are rediscovered in what Print Studios themselves are calling a ‘world of icy wonders’.

Print Studios are a relatively new player in the world of iGaming, but we’re keeping a close eye on their releases. Few studios get off to a flying start quite like Print Studios, and quite frankly their first few releases have been amazing.

Book of Destiny seemed generic at first, but even that had exciting and unique features. After this, Print Studios came into their own with releases like Crystal Golem and Royal Potato, which continues to wow players to this day.

Out of the Ice Betting and Symbols

Like Royal Potato, Out of the Ice has a somewhat limited selection of betting options for players to choose from. For those who prefer a lower stake, the minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin. For those who prefer a higher stake, the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Out of the Ice is the Purple Dragon, followed by the Green Dragon and Blue Dragon. Medium paying symbols are the Purple Fish, Green Snail and Blue Crab. Low-paying symbols fall to Gold, Purple and Green Shells.

Out of the Ice Base Game and Features

Out of the Ice is a 5 reel slot with 76-259 winning ways. To form a winning combination, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols types from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

To kickstart the features, Print Studios has included a Freezing Respin feature that activates every time a winning combination is formed. Once this happens, the left-most reel will be removed from play and a brand new reel will emerge from the right. The initial winning combination is held in position and all non-winning positions will Respin. The Freezing Respin feature will continue until there are no more winning combinations or if the Free Spins round is awarded.

Merfolk Multipliers

During the Freezing Respin feature, Merfolk Multipliers can appear from the deep.

These beautiful creatures can randomly pop up through the ice and award a win Multiplier. Both the male and female Merfolk offer a different range of Multiplier values, these are as follows.

• Female Merfolk – Awards a Multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5.
• Male Merfolk – Awards a Multiplier of x8, x10, x20 or x40.

During the Freezing Respins feature, by reaching 4 consecutive Respins in a row, you will automatically trigger the Free Spins round. Out of the Ice is another fine example of Print Studios ingenuity…though we’ll say this, we preferred Royal Potato.

The two are incomparable in every aspect except creators really, but we feel like  Royal Potato was more appealing with a completely original and a somewhat humorous design.

Royal Potato out-gunned Out of the Ice in terms of potential too with five times as much potential. Out of the Ice has a 6,000x maximum win, and although it’s not quite as impressive as former games, it’s still formidable.

Despite how it sounds, we’re very impressed with Out of the Ice. Print Studios are a young studio after all, and this kind of quality is nothing short of professional.

Out of the Ice has all of the entertainment that you could want from a slot with an exciting Base Game Features and a multiple-choice option when it comes to Free Spins, so we’d say that it’s certainly another successful offering from an imaginative team, even if it’s not quite as appealing as a slot themed around an expensive potato.

Statistics are pretty impressive too. Print Studios has said that the chance to hit the maximum win on the most volatile bonus is 1 in 282,000, which looks very achievable compared to the frequency stated by other providers. The RTP looks great too at 96.55%, but this could differ depending on market, and of course, we’ve already touched on the 6,000x maximum win.

Overall, we think Out of the Ice is another very impressive title. We don’t envision it to be as popular as Royal Potato, but in our opinion its another step in the right direction if Print Studios aims to become a widely known and respected name.
