Pine of Plinko Dream Drop Slot Review

Pine of Plinko from the innovative Print Studios takes us to a world of gnomes for a good old fashioned game of…Plinko?

That’s right, Plinko, not that the name didn’t give it away, but why Plinko? Print Studios always stand out in one way or another. They’re relatively youthful compared to other software providers but they’re full of interesting ideas, as evidenced recently by their latest release, Reapers. Pine of Plinko doesn’t quite reimagine slots like Reapers does, but there’s certainly a sprinkle of Print Studios ingenuity here.

Plinko was first created by Frank Wayne, Producer of the Price is Right back in 1983.

It’s been popular ever since, and it’s been seen more than once in the world of iGaming. It’s called ‘Pachinko’ in Japan, which might make it more relatable for those Crazy Time fans out there, and it seems particularly popular on cryptocurrency casinos. Plinko has been an interesting discussion point for scientists as a a good example of Chaos Theory, which in short means that you cannot expect the same outcome twice, even if the Plinko chips are accurately placed.

Pine of Plinko certainly is an interesting move from Print Studios, but will it work?

Let’s check it out.

Scatter Boost

Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the choice to activate the Scatter Boost feature.

Choosing to activate the Scatter Boost will increase your current bet by 75%, but with that comes one advantage. When the Scatter Boost is active, Scatters will be more present on the reels.

Dream Drop Jackpot

Landing 3 or more DD (Dream Drop) symbols in view, will trigger the Dream Drop Plinko Bonus.

Once the Dream Drop Plinko Bonus is active, 5 Jackpot Prizes known as Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major and Mega can be won.

The Dream Drop Plinko Bonus works in the same way the regular Plinko bonus works, only difference is that the Prize gaps at the bottom of the Plinko board are labeled with the 5 Jackpot Prizes.

Pressing the Drop Button will release a plinko ball onto the board. When a Plinko Ball falls into 1 of the 5 Jackpot Prize gaps, the corresponding Jackpot Meter will fill up.

When a Jackpot Meter is filled to the top, the corresponding Jackpot Prize is awarded and the Dream Drop Bonus round will end.

Landing 3 or more Scatters across the reels, automatically triggers the Plinko Bonus. The total number of Drops awarded is equal to the sum of the numbers on the triggering Scatters.

During the Plinko Bonus, continuously press the Drop button to release the Plinko Balls onto the board. In the middle of the Plinko board is 3 special Ball Bumpers.

Each time the Plinko Balls bounce off the special bumpers, the Meter above the board will begin to fill. Filling the Meter to the top will trigger the next Level, awarding an additional +10 Drops.

Each time you level up, you will Double the amount of Plinko Balls that drop, up to a whopping 256 balls on a single drop!

At the bottom of the Plinko Board sits 15 gaps with random values, up to 1,000x your current bet. Whichever gap the plinko balls land in, the total value is awarded.

Pine of Plinko Dream Drop: Our Verdict

Pine of Plinko is really quite special, in our opinion.

Plinko and Slots were an even simpler amalgamation than Slingo is if you really think about it, yet it works really well. ‘Slinko’ we think we’ll call it. We’ll trademark the name at a later date, but for now we’re just enjoying Pine of Plinko. It’s graphically beautiful, and the even the Base Game holds its fair share of excitement with very respectable payout values for a full line of some of the higher paying symbols.

Pine of Plinko really shines in how it can pick up in momentum as the levels progress. The numbers at the top in the bonus round represents the number of balls dropped per click, and at the higher levels it feels like chaos with hundreds of balls dropping into play. We tested it quite thoroughly ourselves, and we’re pretty impressed with how Pine of Plinko performs.

However, as time went on we found ourselves coming to know the game, and what is and isn’t a good set up as a result. In our experience, you need 20+ balls on the first level just to progress to the next one, and any less feels like a bit of a cold shower. At one point we had 99 balls on the first level, which had us reaching some of the upper levels before we’d even finished with the first one. The potential was apparent, and the resulting win was nothing short of huge.

Overall, Pine of Plinko really shines as something rather simple, yet rather imaginative, unique and attractive. It’s not the first game to capatalise on the game of Plinko, but its far superior to the standalone Plinko games seen elsewhere.
