Argonauts Slot Review
Astronauts? Wack. Cosmonauts? Wack. But Argonauts…a band of Greek heroes aboard the ship Argo on a quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece from Colchis and regain Jason’s rightful throne. Cool.
Notable members included Heracles, the strongest hero of Greek Myth, Orpheus, a legendary musician and Theseus, slayer of the Minotaur.
The CVs of the members of the Argonauts are impressive indeed, with accomplishments that would make a snobby university student feel inferior and underqualified. A 1st in Gender Studies, you say? Sorry, applicants are required to have at least 5 years of experience in a** kicking, magic powers, or an actual useful degree to be considered
Pragmatic Play’s latest piece of work certainly delves into some lesser-known heroes, straying from the usual suspects like Zeus or Poseidon, but it isn’t the first time these band of heroes have been on a slotting adventure. A slot of the same name was released by Endorphina, but which is better?
Pragmatic Play slots certainly resonate more with our audience, but will this particular title? Let’s check it out.

Base Game & Features
Argonauts is a high volatility slot from Pragmatic Play featuring 5 reels and 1,024 ways to win. Form wins by connecting at least 3 of any symbol from left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the left-most reel.
The high-paying symbols in Argonauts are character cards, the blowing horn and the sword. Low-paying symbols are A, K, Q, J & 10 Card Symbols. Payouts for a line of 5 of the highest paying symbols are 5x the bet and 0.6x for the lowest symbol.
Hit Frequencies provided by Pragmatic Play are as follows
- Base Game Hit: 1 in 4.91 spins
- Free Spins: 1 in 193 spins
- Odds for <1000x hit frequency: 1 in 107,781 spins
- Max Win Frequency: 1 in 107,781 spins

Money Symbols
When a Money symbol lands, it displays a random value selected from a fixed range between 0.5x and 50x your bet. If you manage to land 20 Money symbols at once in the base game, their combined values are automatically awarded.
Wild Collectors
The Wild Collector substitutes for all symbols except for the Money Symbols. Whenever it hits, it collects the values of adjacent money symbols vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
The Wild Collector symbol can hit, carrying a random multiplier that applies to the values of all Money symbols that it collects. For each money symbol collected, the multiplier increases by +1x. The possible multiplier values range between 2x and 2,000x your bet.

Argonauts Respins Feature
Landing six or more Money symbols in the base game unlocks the Respin Feature. The triggering Money symbols lock in place, and the reels spin using a new set that includes only Money symbols, Wild Collectors, or Blanks.
You begin with 3 Respins, and every time a new Money or Collector symbol appears, it locks in place and the respin count resets to 3. Wild Collectors that land during the feature gather the values of all adjacent Money symbols and add them to the total win.
The round continues until either no spins remain or the entire grid is filled. When it ends, the combined values of all visible Money symbols are added up and paid out. If you manage to fill the full screen, each Money symbol is awarded with a x2 Multiplier.

Bonus Buy
The bonus buy available in Argonauts is relatively affordable, at 60x your bet. The theoretical RTP for this pruchasable mode is 96.46%.
The max win capabilities of this game are 10,000x your bet. If a game round reaches this figure, the current mode ends, and the player is awarded the qualifying amount.

Our Honest Verdict
The mighty Argonauts had the potential to be something special. Its logo stood out to us right away – a mighty Greek warrior helmet surrounded by the golden majesty of their formidable warships – yes, please.
However, Argonauts turned out to be more of a filler slot than anything else. There’s nothing overly inventive about it, no quirks, no bells, no whistles, just a hold & win style bonus and, in fairness to Pragmatic, a fairly cool way of boosting the values of the Money Symbols.
It’s not a total let-down, but we’d be lying to you if we said it was a notable release. Pragmatic Play has that full-steam-ahead attitude when it comes to development. There’s something new every week, it seems, but unfortunately, Argonauts isn’t one for the history books.
It’s got a decent max win of 10,000x the bet and a fair range of RTP configs, but it won’t carry it to notoriety. Love Mythology slots? Check out our list.
