Chaos Crew 2 Slot Review 2024
Cranky Cat and Sketchy Skull are back with more chaos and even bigger potential in Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, Chaos Crew 2!
Welcome back to the weird and wonderful underground world of Cranky Cat and Sketchy Skull in the much anticipated second release to a slot that showed Hacksaw Gaming’s true potential.
Before Chaos Crew, Hacksaw Gaming’s main focus was Scratchcards, with only a small selection of slots under their belts. Cubes and Stick ‘Em got the ball rolling, but it was Chaos Crew that really changed our perception of Hacksaw by showing us what they’re really capable of.
Now almost 3 years later, and with a plethora of impressive slots in their collection, Hacksaw Gaming is going back to where it all began with a sequel to one of our favourite slots of all time, but will it meet our expectations?
Let’s get stuck in and find out!
Chaos Crew 2 Base Game and Features
Chaos Crew 2 is a 5-reel Video Slot with 19 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.27% and a max win cap of 20,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Pyramid, followed by the Diamonds, Smiley Face, Mouth, and Dice. Low-paying symbols fall to Magic 8 Ball, Pink A, Blue Wings, Green Face, and Orange Heart.
A Drop of Epic Proportions
During the base game, the Epic Drop feature can randomly activate at the start of any base game spin. Once active, the reel set will transform into the Bonus Game grid and a minimum of 5 Multipliers from the Bonus will drop in and award their values.
On the next spin, the reel set will revert back to its original state and gameplay will continue as normal, unless you were lucky enough to trigger another Epic Drop feature.
A very Cranky Cat
The Cranky Cat head symbol is a Wild Multiplier that will multiply all winning combinations it is a part of during the base game. Landing more than 1 Cranky Cat symbol that is part of the same win will have their values multiplied together and then applied to the win.
Cranky Cat symbols can reveal a Multiplier value of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, and x20 at random. During the base game, 1 Cranky Cat symbol can land at any one time on each reel, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbols.
Chaos Crew 2 Bonus Game
Landing 3 Bonus Scatters across the reels in the base game triggers the Bonus Game round, awarding 3 Lives.
During this round, the reel set transforms, and only non-paying symbols and Multiplier Scatters are in play. Above each reel sits a special Reel Multiplier that starts at 1x.
There are a number of Multiplier symbols in play, and when one of these lands in view, the reel Multipliers above the reels are progressively increased. Each time a new Multiplier symbol lands, it will refill the number of Lives back to 3.
- Sketchy Skull – Adds its displayed value to the above Reel Multiplier once.
- Sticky Sketchy Skull – Remains on the reel and adds its displayed value to the above Reel Multiplier on every subsequent spin.
- Epic Sketchy Skull – Adds its displayed value to all Reel Multipliers once.
- Epic Sticky Sketchy Skull – Remains on the reel and adds its displayed value to all Reel Multipliers on every subsequent spin.
- Cranky Cat – Multiplies its displayed value to the above Reel Multiplier once.
- Sticky Cranky Cat – Remains on the reel and Multiplies its displayed value to the above Reel Multiplier on every subsequent spin.
- Epic Cranky Cat – Mutliplies its displayed value to all Reel Multipliers once.
- Epic Sticky Cranky Cat – Remains on the reel and Multiplies its displayed value to all Reel Multipliers on every subsequent spin.
Sketchy Skull and Cranky Cat values range from x1 and x100, and x2 and x20 respectively. When all Lives are complete without a Reset, the Bonus round ends.
Super Bonus
Landing 4 Bonus Scatters in the base game will trigger the Super Bonus round. The Super Bonus plays out in the same way as the regular Bonus, with one exception. The first spin of each Super Bonus is guaranteed to have a minimum of 7 Multiplier symbols from the list in the Bonus section.
Best of Bonus
Landing 3 Bonus Scatters at the same time as 1 Best of Bonus Scatter in the base game automatically triggers the Best of Bonus round.
The Best of Bonus awards 3 Bonus features in a row, each playing out in full before storing the winning result on the scoreboard next to the reel set.
At the end of the third and final Bonus round, the highest value from the scoreboard is awarded and Multiplied by your bet to determine the final win amount.
Best of Super Bonus
Landing 4 Bonus Scatters at the same time as a Best of Bonus Scatter in the base game automatically triggers the Best of Super Bonus round.
This Bonus round awards 3 Super Bonus features in a row, each playing out in full before storing the winning result on the scoreboard next to the reel set.
Once all 3 Super Bonus features are complete, the highest value from the scoreboard is awarded and Multiplied by your current bet to determine the final win amount.

Chaos Crew 2: Our Verdict
Chaos Crew 2 is the sequel everyone wanted and a fitting successor to the game that put Hacksaw Gaming on the map.
The gritty feel of the original game is alive, well and improved in Chaos Crew 2, and the core aspects of the original game return to make it a recognisable experience for all Chaos Crew fans. Some of Hacksaw’s more modern features make an appearance, which is great news for those in bonus buy territory, but not so much for those in the UK.
We’d love to at least see the BonusHunt Featurespins on UK screens, as we think it would be allowed. Nolimit City and their xBet feature is allowed, so why not FeatureSpins? It would immensely improve the appeal of the game. Even without it, there’s much to love about Chaos Crew 2. The win potential looks incredible at 20,000x the bet, and the Super and ‘Best of’ bonus rounds elaborate for a more mesmeric experience.
Unless we’re mistaken, we can’t quite see the appeal of the Best of Super Bonus round when compared to the regular Super Bonus. The Super Bonus round costs 250x the bet and you keep what you win, but the best of round costs double, and it gives you the best result of 3 bonuses. It’s hard to see why you wouldn’t just go with the super bonus twice, and keep both the winnings.
As a whole, we think Chaos Crew 2 is a huge success, despite our little gripes. Chaos Crew 2 almost surgically hones in on things that made the first game great before improving it immensely. If you were a fan of the original Chaos Crew, then you’ll love Chaos Crew 2.
