Dog Town Deal Slot Review 2024
Join the hustle and bustle of New Orleans nightlife in Quickspin’s latest release, Dog Town Deal!
The night has drawn to an end in New Orleans, the bars and clubs are closing, and the town’s band has packed up for the evening.
In the dusty basement of the Dog Town Casino, a group of entertainers are just setting up. This week we have Ophelia, the powerful singer from the Midnight Hour club, accompanied by her talented pianist Leroy Brown who has a little bit of a temper.
Joining them this evening is Miguel “Miso” Sosa, the legendary boogaloo saxophonist looking for a good time whilst on his annual tour of the Big Easy’s best clubs.
Last but not least, meet this evening’s host, Bazza, a nefarious card shark from the east end of London. Rumour has it Bazza’s on the lamb after a mishap in an off-the-radar Casino in Marylebone that no one has the guts to ask him about.
Either way, tonight is going to be a game to remember, so pull up a chair and get ready to play!
Dog Town Deal Base Game and Features
Dog Town Deal is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Dog Town Deal has a theoretical RTP of 96.15% and a max win cap of 1,213x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Dog with the Red background, followed by the Dogs with Brown, Green, and Blue backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to the Red, Brown, Green, and Blue Poker Chips. Wilds substitute for all other symbols except Card Scatters.
The Deal
During the base game, landing exactly 2 Card Scatters across the reels triggers The Deal feature.
Each face-down Card Scatter will turn over to reveal 2 random Playing Cards. These cards will form a hand of two cards. If the hand score is at least 16, a payout is awarded as follows.
- 21 – Awards 15x your current bet.
- 20 – Awards 5x your current bet.
- 19 – Awards 4x your current bet.
- 18 – Awards 3x your current bet.
- 17 – Awards 2x your current bet.
- 16 – Awards 1x your current bet.
Dog Town Deal Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Card Scatters across the reels triggers the Top Dog Free Spins round, awarding 7, 10, and 15 Free Spins respectively. During Free Spins, the Blackjack feature is in play, along with a Multiplier Ladder feature.
Blackjack
During Free Spins, you will have a hand that is carried from spin to spin. At the start of Free Spins, the hand starts off empty.
Each time a spin awards a winning combination, 1, 2, or 3 Cards are added to the hand for win lengths of 3, 4, and 5 respectively. Each card is awarded one at a time, and the hand is evaluated after each card.
During the hand evaluation, if the hand is a bust, it will be automatically discarded. If the hand has a Five Card Charlie, a Blackjack, or a score of 16 or more, you will progress along the Multiplier Ladder and the hand is discarded. Or else, the hand is kept.
Multiplier Ladder
At the start of Free Spins, the Multiplier Ladder will start off on 0. Each time a Blackjack, 5 Card Charlie, or a score of 16 or more is awarded, you will move up the Multiplier by +3, +2, and +1 Steps respectively.
At the end of Free Spins, you will be awarded a payout based on your progress on the Multiplier Ladder. This payout is in addition to any winnings during Top Dog Free Spins.
If your hand still contains Cards when the Free Spins round ends, you will be awarded an additional +1 Top Dog Free Spin.
Dog Town Deal Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Quickspin has granted players access to the Top Dog Free Spins round for a total cost of 50x your current bet. (RTP 96.67%)
Dog Town Deal: Our verdict
It would be easy for us to shine Dog Town Deal in a bad light because of the disappointing 1,213x max win cap, but there’s more to Dog Town Deal than just this.
Quickspin doesn’t just cater to experienced players, they also take care of players just starting out with games like Flip Royale. Although there was no mention of Dog Town Deal being for inexperienced players, it does tend to feel that way.
Players who are torn between slots and a cheeky game of Blackjack or two can enjoy a bit of both here. Failing to land the 3rd Card Scatter needed to trigger free spins awards The Deal feature, where you can win a few extra bob if your hand is 16 or more.
Triggering free spins gives you access to the Multiplier Ladder, where you can reach up to x1,000 if you play your cards right. However, reaching the max Multiplier is a lot easier said than done, which relies heavily on a number of winning hands to get there.
All in all, Dog Town Deal won’t stand out as Quickspin’s best if you’ve followed their releases so far, but it has its fair share of interesting moments and a couple of tricks up its sleeve.
