Drop ‘Em Slot Review 2024
Welcome back Canny the Can and Mona Mouse for another epic adventure in Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, Drop ‘Em! Canny the Can has come a long way since the release of Stick ‘Em, and has since found a new companion to join him on his adventures.
Canny the Can and Mona Mouse have featured in a number of innovative titles together, mostly to do with Sticking ’em or stacking ’em, but Hacksaw threw a curveball by releasing Canny the Can and the Book of Time in late 2022. With no shortage of adjectives to choose from, we wonder where Hacksaw Gaming will take the series next.
With Canny the Can and Mona Mouse becoming our new favourite duo, we can’t wait to see what kind of innovative gameplay Hacksaw Gaming has conjured up this time around!
Drop ‘Em Base Game and Features
Drop ‘Em is a 5-reel slot with up to 7,776 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Drop ‘Em has a theoretical RTP of 96.21% and a max win cap of 10,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Lightning Bolt, followed by the Snake, Skull, Crow, and Leaf. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Wilds substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.
Drop Symbols
During gameplay, when 1 or more Drop symbols land in view, the Drop mechanic will trigger after all winning combinations on the reels have been awarded.
Each Drop symbol will fall downward and off the reels, removing all High and Low-paying symbols below it. All symbols above the Drop symbol will fall to the bottom of the reels.
All empty symbol positions on each reel will be filled with the same High or Low-paying symbol chosen at random by Canny himself. During the base game, this symbol will be chosen from any paying symbols or Wilds.
If this new symbol forms a winning combination, the win will be awarded. If a winning combination created by the new symbols can also include symbols that are part of a separate winning combination before the Drop mechanic activates, these symbols will also be included in the new winning combination.
Drop ‘Em Free Spins
Like many Hacksaw titles, Drop ‘Em gives each player the opportunity to trigger 1 of 3 Free Spins rounds known as the Drop Spins, High Drop Spins, and Wild Drop Spins. More on these below.
Drop Spins Bonus
Landing 3 FS Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the Drop Spins bonus, awarding 10 Free Spins.
The Drop Spins round begins with all High and Low-paying symbols and the Wild in a pool of possible symbols that can be chosen at random by the Drop mechanic.
Landing FS Scatters during this time will reveal an additional +1, +2, or +3 Free Spins and possibly an Upgrade that removes certain symbols from the Drop mechanic pool.
When an Upgrade is revealed, between 1 and 10 High or Low-paying symbols will be removed from the choice Pool, excluding the Wild symbol.
High Drop Spins Bonus
Landing 4 FS Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the High Drop Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
The High Drop Spins round begins with only High-paying symbols and the Wild in a pool of possible symbols that can be chosen at random via the Drop mechanic.
Landing FS Scatters during this time will award an additional +1, +2, or +3 Free Spins and possibly an Upgrade that is able to remove certain symbols from the Drop mechanic pool.
When an Upgrade symbol is revealed, between 1 and 5 High or Low-paying symbols are removed from the choice pool, excluding the Wild symbol.
Wild Drop Spins Bonus
Landing 5 FS Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the Wild Drop Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
The Wild Drop Spins round begins with only the Wild symbol in the choice pool for the Drop mechanic to choose from. Landing FS Scatters will award an additional +1, +2, or +3 Free Spins at random.

Drop ‘Em: Our Verdict
Canny the Can had humble beginnings, but he’s a regular showcase from the Hacksaw portfolio and the games get more attractive each time. Drop’ Em focuses on the new Drop Symbol mechanic, as the name suggests, and when it’s firing on all cylinders it’s a very effective feature with the potential for huge wins.
Drop ‘Em’s capabilities are reflected in the maximum win cap of 10,000x, putting it equal to Stack Em and Canny the Can and the Book of Time. We like Drop ‘Em a lot, but it’s no better or worse than Stack ‘Em and Canny the Can and the Book of Time, which is understandable. Hacksaw Gaming doesn’t want to undermine their previous games with a slot that smashes it out of the park it seems. This series is more about different and diverse experiences than it is about bigger and better slots each time.
Preferences will vary, but if you’re a fan of Hacksaw Gaming with a particular fondness for Canny the Can, then Drop ‘Em will not disappoint. Bonus Buy players are in a better position to enjoy all of Drop ‘Em’s features, but even UK players have a shot here with an enhanced bonus that requires 4 scatters.
Overall, Drop ‘Em is well-built, attractive and very entertaining.
