Base Game & Features
Fire My Laser is a 7-reel, 6-row Video Slot with a nifty ReactWins mechanic and varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€100 per spin. This mid-high volatility slot includes an overall RTP of 96.31% and a generous max win cap of 15,000x your bet.
Symbols include 3 glowing rocks, 3 space shuttles, and an alien, awarding payouts between 0.1x and 5x your bet. Through the ReactWins mechanic, wins are only awarded when destroyed by Bombs and Lasers. When a win is removed, empty positions are refilled with new symbols that fall in from above.
Bombs Away
In the base game, there are 2 different types of Bombs and Lasers. Each bomb and laser acts as the primary win mechanic by hitting positions on the reels and removing symbols.
Each paytable symbol that is removed this way is awarded a payout as mentioned above. All wins are collected in the Total Win Bar above the main reel set and paid out at the end of each spin. Black rock symbols are classed as non-paying and do not award a payout when destroyed.
Each Bomb and Laser symbol is activated from bottom to top, and right to left. If another bomb or laser hits another, it will cause it to activate. Each type of bomb and laser removes symbols in a unique pattern once active:
- Small Bomb: Explodes over a 3×3 area, centred around its position
- Big Bomb: Explodes over a 5×5 area, centred around the small bomb symbol
- X-Laser: Shoots diagonal lines with a width of 1 symbol to the edges of the reel set, in each of the four corners
- Super Laser: Shoots diagonal lines with a width of 3 symbols to the edges of the reel set, in each of the four corners. This symbol instantly destroys all Shields hit by its effect
Removed symbols trigger a new Cascade function, causing existing symbols to drop down to fill the gaps, whilst new symbols drop in from above to fill remaining positions.
Once the current reels settle and no more Bombs or Lasers activate, there is a chance to trigger an Orbital Bombardment on 3-7 random positions. Each orbital bombardment strikes a 2×2 area, centred on an intersection between the affected symbols.
Deploy Shields
Certain symbols may appear with a special Shield. These symbols require multiple hits from Bombs, Lasers, and Orbital Bombardments in order to remove the shield and activate the symbol beneath it.
Shields are marked with a blue icon in the top-left corner, and the number on the Shield represents how many hits it will take to unlock. Shields can also be found on Multiplier and Scatter symbols.
Multipliers will require 2 or 3 hits to break their shield, revealing a value depending on how many strikes it takes to unlock:
- 2-Shield Multipliers: x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10
- 3-Shield Multipliers: x15, x20, x25, x50, x100, x250, x500
Multipliers become active once their Shields break, and are applied to the Total Win Bar at the end. The total Multiplier value multiplies the collected winnings to determine the final win.

Free Spins
There are 2 types of FS Scatters, both requiring 3 Hits to break their shield and trigger a Free Spins round. Each free spins mode is triggered by breaking open 1 FS Scatter of the corresponding type.
Alien Attack
When the Alien Attack Free Spins mode is active, an initial 8 Free Spins is awarded. This round retains all the mechanics from the base game, and active Multipliers are stored in the Progressive Multiplier meter.
The progressive multiplier is applied to the collected win in the Total Win Bar on any spin where at least 1 new Multiplier has been added to it. Breaking the shield of an Alien Mind FS symbol awards an additional +2 Free Spins.
Extermination
When the Extermination Free Spins mode is active, an initial 12 Free Spins is awarded. This round retains all the mechanics from the base game, and all active Multipliers are stored in the Progressive Global Multiplier.
The Global Multiplier is applied to all wins collected in the Total Win Bar at the end of every spin. Breaking the shield of a Power Core FS symbol awards an additional +2 Free Spins.
Our Verdict
Fire My Laser from Hacksaw Gaming shows there are endless ways to experiment with new mechanics and features. This year, we’ve been met with new releases that have opened a portal to new mechanics and functions that take the iGaming industry to the next level, and Fire My Laser is a big part of that.
Another slot with strong similarities to Fire My Laser is Nolimit City’s Space Donkey, which appeals to video game enthusiasts and players looking for new and refreshing mechanics.
Hacksaw Gaming has brought to light another effective mechanic known as ReactWins, where wins are only awarded when destroyed by Bombs and Lasers. Thanks to the Cascade function, it’s not overly difficult to trigger consecutive wins, offering opportunities to see the many feature symbols in play.
These symbols are also the key to unlocking FS Scatters and Multiplier symbols. The good news is that both Free Spins rounds only require 1 FS Scatter to unlock in order to gain entry, but they require multiple hits to break open.
Both, Extermination and Alien Attack free spin modes offer a Multiplier Progression scheme. Of the two, Extermination is by far the more appealing Free Spins round, set with a Progressive Global Multiplier and a higher number of starting Free Spins.
