They’ve really got something for everyone with a diverse and growing portfolio. For this game, we’re jetting off to the Caribbean for some good times, and hopefully some good wins.
An Ocean Breeze Puts the Mind at Ease
Ignite the Night is a beautifully scenic video slot with a Tropical Beach theme. In the backdrop you’ll notice a calm, peaceful sea and a palm tree gently blowing in the breeze at sunset.
A surfboard rests idly in the golden sands and the ethereal sounds of an acoustic guitar and a subtle, crackling bonfire will surely have you levitating off your chair as you reach spiritual enlightenment.
The mechanics of this game are simple and will resonate well with those looking for a classic slot experience. 5 high paying symbols, 4 low paying symbols and wilds make up the composition, working on 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines.
The stake can go as low as 0.10 for those looking for a more casual experience with a cap of 100 if you’re a high roller. The stake is the only thing you can modify in this game with all paylines active at all times.
The Base Game
The Base Game is about as simple as you’d expect from a traditional slot such as this. As previously mentioned the game will work on 10 paylines and wins will occur when 3 or more of any symbol forms all, or part of a payline. Wilds will substitute for all symbols apart from the scatter symbol.
The game adds an interesting flavour in the form of random multipliers. Per spin, a random high paying symbol will have a x5 multiplier active, a welcome feature which ups the potential for bigger payouts and a generous one to be active every spin.
Further to this, the game also has the potential to add multipliers to any winning high paying symbols up to a whopping 50x. In this feature, two fire dancers will appear and add multipliers onto the winning symbols. These can manifest as a 5x, 10x or 50x.
The game likes to tease a little bit before adding the next multiplier to the win, and quite often, as you’d expect will pay out 5x before disappearing. Wouldn’t be a slot without a good tease though would it?
The features in this game may be few, but they’re powerful and it really keeps the game interesting and exciting. The Sword and the Grail Slot comes to mind when playing this, however it seems that the multipliers are active much more often here, albeit only on high paying symbols and a smaller top multiplier.
Free Spins
The game uses a traditional 3 Scatter symbols to trigger the bonus, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5 and will award 10 free spins.
Free spins on this game is really interesting and quite frankly has huge potential, like every good bonus should. Every time you land a winning high paying symbol, the multiplier for that symbol will be upgraded to the next increment and will persist for the remainder of the free games.
High paying symbols will start at 1x and will be upgraded to 5x, 10x and 50x with the exception that the game generously starts one of the high paying symbols as a 5x in the bonus game.
Playing this game, I was pleasantly surprised with how often I managed a re-trigger in bonus rounds. 2 Scatter symbols during free games will give you an additional 5 spins, and 3 will give you an additional 10.
The bonus also throws in a last chance feature. If on the last spin a symbol was upgraded, then the game will give you an extra spin to give you the chance to hit with the newly upgraded symbol.
Our Verdict
The game is fun, makes you feel good and has really good potential in both the base game and the bonus. It may not be to everybody’s tastes as it’s quite minimalistic in terms of features and as with any game that works with paylines, you can definitely expect there to be a good few dead spins along the way.
Volatility is Medium/High, the base game can certainly drain your balance, but if lady luck is on your side you can expect to recoup losses and then some in that high potential bonus with a maximum win of up to 5,735x your stake.
Because Bonus symbols are triggered on reels 1, 3 and 5 you’ll only ever have the potential to land 10 spins, but the game makes up for this with the prospect of re-triggering within the rounds and will do so quite often.
Over the years we’ve seen a multitude of games revolutionise the way we play slots, with numerous different features, ways to win and quirky mechanics, but honestly, it’s invigorating to see a game with this classic play style pulled off in such a meticulous fashion.
