Infernus Slot Review
Enter the fiery depths of the Underworld and face the Hound of Hades in Backseat Gaming’s latest release, Infernus!
In Greek Mythology, the Hound of Hades, more commonly known as Cerberus, is a triple-headed dog that guards the gates of the Underworld. The guarding of the gates is not to keep the dead from entering, but rather to keep them from leaving.
In Infernus, we’re facing this deadly beast head-on as we navigate our way around the grid. Backseat Gaming introduces us to a new and exciting Wild Block feature, where Wild symbols can land in various sizes, revealing Multipliers that merge into a total Wild Block Multiplier.
Since the release of Lord Venom, Backseat Gaming has been mass-producing innovative titles, including The Cursed King, Space Zoo, and Clumsy Cowboys, to name a few. Thanks to Hacksaw Gaming’s OpenRGS platform, this up-and-coming provider has become a rising star within the iGaming industry.

Base Game & Features
Infernus is a standard 5-reel Video Slot with 19 fixed pay lines and varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€100 per spin. Other areas of significance include a High Volatility rating, an overall RTP of 96.27%, and a capped max win of 15,000x your bet.
Wins occur when 3-5 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. Paytable symbols consist of 5 Low-paying and 4 High-paying symbols, each awarding wins between 0.2x and 20x your bet. Wilds substitute for all symbols except Scatters.
Wild Symbols
Cerberus Wilds appear on the grid in sizes 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5, thus creating a Wild Block. Each Wild Block reveals a Multiplier between x2 and x100. The number of heads on the symbol reveals the size of the Wild Block:
- 2 Heads: 2×2 Wild Block
- 3 Heads: 3×3 Wild Block
- 4 Heads: 4×4 Wild Block
- 5 Heads: 5×5 Wild Block
All heads reveal individual Multipliers which are added together and applied to the entire Wild Block. This Multiplier is then used against all wins that pass through it.

Bonus Buy
- Bonushunt Featurespins: Each spin is 3 times more likely to trigger Free Spins (2x your bet)
- Hellfire Featurespins: Each spin guarantees a Wild Block per spin (75x your bet)
- Inferno’s Gate: Awards 10 Free Spins (100x your bet)
- Cerberus’ Rage: Awards 10 Free Spins and sticky Wild Blocks (200x your bet)
Inferno’s Gate
Landing 3 FS Scatters in the base game triggers Inferno’s Gate, awarding 10 Free Spins. In this round, you will have an increased chance of landing Wild Blocks.
Cerberus’ Rage
Landing 4 FS Scatters anywhere on the grid triggers Cerberus’ Rage, awarding 10 Free Spins. In this round, all appearing Wild Blocks will remain in view until the end of the feature. Please note, that bigger Wild Blocks can replace smaller ones.

Our Verdict
Infernus is not our first visit to the Underworld, nor will it be our last. In June 2020, Thunderkick had us tangling with the Hound of Hades in Beat the Beast Cerberus’ Inferno, which ironically used Wild symbols as the main attraction, as witnessed here.
The heat is on in Infernus when Wild Blocks with revealing Multipliers grace the reels. This feature is the only one available, yet it generates plenty of action and the potential for big wins when it appears. To win anything substantial, you’ll need to land the Wild Block as close to the leftmost reel as possible. In addition, the more heads present, the bigger the total Multiplier.
The Inferno’s Gate Free Spins round is a glorified version of the base game, using the Wild Block once again as the main attraction. Only this time, Wild Blocks tend to appear more frequently. Alternatively, Cerberus’ Rage Free Spins guarantees that all Wild Blocks to appear will remain in position throughout the feature. This particular round certainly ups the appeal of the entire game, but landing more than 1 Wild Block seems somewhat tricky to achieve.
Non-UK players have access to all the above through the Bonus Buy option, including the ever-popular Featurespins. Although the Featurespins options are considered an Ante Bet, UK players are unable to utilise them as they fall under the Bonus Buy menu.
Backseat Gaming has classified this game as highly volatile but has kept the overall RTP and max win cap above average for a slot of this nature. The 15,000x max win cap will certainly appeal to many, while the remaining statistics offer a nice balance between small wins and significant ones.
