Phoenix Paradise Slot Review 2024

Join a rather curious explorer Jeanette as she ventures deep into the jungle in search of hidden treasure, in Thunderkick’s latest release Phoenix Paradise!

The legends behind some of our favourite titles including Riders of the Storm and the Beat the Beast series is back with another exciting addition to add to their growing portfolio.

As we venture into the jungle with Jeanette, keep an eye out for the Fire Phoenix eggs which grant you entry into the Free Spins round. Here you will be able to relive a certain Walking Wilds feature similar to that of Riders of the Storm, which will move you closer to your final quest.

Phoenix Paradise is as Volatile as it is exotic, but don’t let that stop you from finishing what you set out to achieve!

Phoenix Paradise Base Game

Phoenix Paradise Base Game and Features

Phoenix Paradise is a 5 reel slot with 15 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Phoenix Paradise has a theoretical RTP of 96.13% and a maximum win capacity of 10,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Phoenix Paradise is Jeanette, followed by the Phoenix Crown, Vase and Knife. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine.

There is also a Phoenix Wild symbol present which substitutes for all other symbols except Scatters. During the base game, Wilds that connect and form a winning combination will award a Wild Payline Multiplier. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Wilds used as part of a winning combination will apply a x2, x4, x8, x16 or x32 Multiplier respectively.

Mystery Wild Activation and Walking Wilds Feature

During the base game, the Mystery Wild Activation feature can trigger randomly.

Once this happens, all present Wilds on the reel set will transform into Walking Wilds and Respins will be awarded. All walking Wilds will then move one position to the left, awarding a Respin as they go, dropping off the Left-most reel when they reach it. Respins will end when no more Walking Wilds are in view.

Phoenix Paradise Free Spins

Landing 3 Phoenix Egg Scatters across the reel set triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8 Free Spins.

In the Free Spins round, all Wild symbols are automatically transformed into Walking Wilds for the duration of the bonus round. The Walking Wilds feature works in exactly the same way it does in the base game.

Landing 3 Phoenix Egg Scatters during the Free Spins round, awards an additional +4 Free Spins.

Phoenix Paradise: Our Verdict

Shifting Seats was the latest from Thunderkick to grace our screens, and if we’re honest we thought we’d be waiting a while for another. Their release schedule compared to others is a little slower, but perhaps that’s indicative of a studio that likes to take their time to carefully cultivate their next game?

Regardless of the reason, we were happy to see Phoenix Paradise this soon after a previous Thunderkick release, and excited to try it out.

When it comes to design, Phoenix Paradise displays Thunderkick’s typical attention to detail with high quality visuals and sounds. The concept of the mythological Phoenix has been tried many times before, yet Thunderkick’s rendition just sticks out to us as a soundly designed quality piece of work. But how does it play?

Although Phoenix Paradise isn’t quite the sequel to our beloved Riders of the Storm, it has enough similarities in the base game and Free Spins round through the use of Walking Wilds. There are certainly similarities to other Thunderkick slots here too, of course. Thunderkick loves the multipliers on a payline, and quite honestly we do too, which is why we’re not being too harsh on their lack of imagination for including it yet again.

In terms of potential, Phoenix Paradise looks very proficient with a maximum win cap up to 10,000x. Few will probably hit the maximum of course, but we’re confident that it’s capable enough to stand out as a new favourite for curious slot players hunting for the newest slots.

Overall, Phoenix Paradise feels fairly standard, yet it does the basics very well, and sometimes the basic formulas with tried and true features are more than enough.
