The innovative and highly revered Print Studios are back once more with Pond of Plinko! The third and hopefully the best in the series so far.

Pine of Plinko and Pine of Plinko 2 proved that the coupling of slots and plinko worked wonderfully, but we’re wondering what other features could further the series beyond the second. It ‘s just dropping little balls into holes, right?

Wrong. Pond of Plinko has some tricks up it’s sleeve that makes quite a statement. If you’re a fan of the first and/or second, then you do not want to miss this one.

Base Game & Features

Pond of Plinko is a highly volatile 5-reel Video Slot with 20 pay lines and bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€50 per spin. This game also includes varying RTP modules between 96.49% and 94.53%, plus a generous max win cap of 30,000x your bet.

The 4 Gnomes make up the game’s High-paying symbols, offering a max payout of 200x your bet, whilst Low-paying (pebble) symbols pay between 0.1x and 3x your bet.

River Prize Feature

Randomly, during gameplay, a special River Prize feature may trigger, which causes water to flow onto the reels and reveal prizes worth up to 10,000x your bet. Once a meter is full, the value is awarded times your bet, and the feature ends.

Feature Bet

  • Scatter Boost: Increases the frequency of triggering the Plinko Bonus by 50.05% (1.2x your bet)
  • Enhanced Scatter Boost: Increases the frequency of triggering the Plinko Bonus by 239.36% (2x your bet)
  • Plinko Bonus: Instantly triggers the Plinko Bonus (100x your bet)

Plinko Bonus

Landing 3 or more Scatters in the base game triggers the Plinko Bonus. The number on each Scatter symbol represents the starting number of Pearls during the Enhancer Game.

Upon entry to the Plinko Bonus, players are given a chance to Re-roll the number of each triggering Scatter symbol. Re-rolling comes at a cost, and increases the total bet for the round, raising the RTP module. However, using free Re-rolls will subsequently lower the overall RTP.

Enhancer Game

This pre-bonus round decides how many enhancers are activated in the Plinko Bonus. During this time, press and hold the drop button to deliver Pearls into the board. When a pearl hits a bumper, the corresponding meter increases. Once a meter is filled, +1 Enhancer is collected.

There are 6 types of Enhancers – these include:

  • Bumper Buckets: Transforms 2 centre prize buckets into bumpers. When a ball lands inside a bumper bucket, it will return to the top.
  • Golden Ball: Activates 2 golden pockets on the board. If a ball lands in a pocket, a Golden Ball Drop is awarded at the end of the stage. During this drop, a single ball is dropped and all buckets offer higher prizes, up to 10,000x your bet.
  • Extra Drops: Awards up to 7 additional Drops.
  • Progressive Prize Buckets: Select 2 random buckets that increase their multiplier by their initial value each time a ball drops into them.
  • Enhanced Prize Bucket: Multiplies one of the prize buckets by x10.
  • Barriers: Activates 2 barriers on the board, forcing balls towards the sides.

Each collected Enhancer is applied to one of the 9 stages in the Plinko Bonus, up to a maximum of 3 per stage.

The Plinko Bonus consists of 9 Stages, each starting with 10 Drops. When a ball falls into 1 of 15 prize buckets at the bottom, the corresponding Multiplier times your bet is awarded.

The meter above the board displays all active enhancers, stage progress, and current stage. The number on each stage indicator shows how many balls have been released per drop for that stage.

When a ball hits a bumper in the centre, the Progress Bar increases. Once filled, the next available stage is unlocked. If there are no more stages to unlock, the Plinko Bonus ends.

Our Verdict

Pond of Plinko is yet another testament to Print Studios’ audacious tenacity and striking individuality.

The first time Pine of Plinko came to our screen we were dubious about the amalgamation of two different games. Will it work? Won’t it? How popular is Plinko anyway? Suffice it to say that it scratched an itch we didn’t know we had.

The waves of dopamine that come with watching swathes of little metal balls bouncing around its weirdly therapeutic, as weird as that sentence sounds. It’s something you should try for yourself if you haven’t already, and Pond of Plinko should be at the top of your list of those to try.

The Base Game can be a little uneventful, but it can turn exciting quickly with the River Prize Feature. This can award up to 10,000x straight up, which is pretty incredible for a base game feature. The main draw here is of course the Plinko Bonus.

Fans of the original games will recognise some of the core mechanics, but Print Studios have ingeniously amped things up, with special modifiers that switch things up.  These changes may bring about Bumper Bcuekts to return balls to the top for another drop, extra drops, barriers to force balls into more favourable positions or our personal favourite, the golden ball. The Golden Ball drop is the epitome of excitement as the prizes illuminate and grow.

It’s hard to fault Pond of Plinko at all, though if we did the occasional underwhelming starting number of balls would be our main issue. Knowing that you can get double digits makes getting a meagre starting number a little disappointing, but even then it can perform with a lucky golden ball or with the help of other modifiers.

Overall, there’s little else to say but well done to Print Studios. Pond of Plinko is a reimagination of an already attractive game done exceptionally well.
