Base Game & Features
Spinman is a standard 5-reel, 4-row Video Slot with 14 fixed pay lines and varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€100 per spin. Unusual for a Hacksaw Gaming release, this game has two math modes available, one being Low-Mid (2/5) and the other considered High (4/5).
Other attributes include an overall RTP of 96.23% (for both math modes) and a sizable max win cap of 10,000x your bet. Wins occur when 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. Each high and low-paying symbol from the paytable includes a fixed payout between 0.2x and 10x your bet.
Justice Reels
When a Spinman icon lands in a spin, it will expand into a Stacked Wild, referred to as a Justice Reel, if it is part of at least 1 winning combination upon expansion. Once a Justice Reel has expanded, it will activate a special Booster Wheel. The wheel will spin through a series of Multipliers, with one position fixed with ‘Max Win’.
The available Multipliers across the wheel are depicted in Bronze, Silver, and Gold value brackets and award the following outcomes:
- Bronze: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x
- Silver: 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x
- Gold: 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x, Max Win
The multiplier on which the arrow lands will be applied to the entire Justice Reel. If a winning combination includes more than 1 Justice Reel, each value is added together before being applied to the win.

Our Honest Verdict
Spinman has all the high-quality aesthetics of a Hacksaw Gaming title, yet it lacks the ingenuity and spark that usually overwhelms each game they release. Fresh out of ideas (it seems), Hacksaw has opted for one specific feature, known as Justice Reels. Although it has a jazzed-up, fancy name, it’s merely a way of saying Expanding Wilds with Multipliers, which happens to be Hacksaw Gaming’s speciality.
What’s great about Justice Reels is that they are guaranteed to expand when part of at least 1 winning combination. Given that this feature is the only one available, it would be a pretty hard pill to swallow if they weren’t. During testing, we encountered many Spinman Icons, with the occasional double or triple expansion in the same spin. An ideal situation would be to have multiple Justice Reels active in the same spin, with higher Multiplier values. Additionally, you can win the 10,000x max win cap through the Booster Wheel by landing the cursor on its marked position.
Of the two Free Spins modes, Spinfinity is the more rewarding option as it guarantees 1 Spinman Icon to hit per spin, but does not guarantee a good reel position. We often joke about the difficulty of triggering Free Spins in a Hacksaw release, but there is certainly some truth to it. What is already a difficult task is made even more challenging when triggering the Spinifity round due to the 4-Scatter requirements.
All in all, Spinman has certain elements of gameplay that are impressive, but it failed to live up to Hacksaw Gaming’s innovation and creative standards.
