Sweet Rush Bonanza is the third game we’ve recently encountered that carries the legacy of an original release (or two in this case) from many years ago. Gonzo’s Quest 2 & MexoMax 2 revive our love for old favourites from some time ago by incorporating modern mechanics, features, and high-quality graphics, and now, Sweet Rush Bonanza arrives to meld together popular features.
Of the two games this instalment covers, Sweet Bonanza is the oldest and most notable release, but both are equally impressive on the reels. Pragmatic Play has done a terrific job at carving out the best bits of each release and combining them to make a one-of-a-kind addition to the ongoing series.
The backdrop reveals rolling hills of gooey treats and rivers of liquid perfection. During gameplay, a selection of gummy sweets, fruits, and shapes fills the reels, reminiscent of both games it reflects, with the return of Lollipop Scatters offering an insightful trip down memory lane.

Base Game & Features
Sweet Rush Bonanza is the latest high volatility release, as part of an ongoing series, from Pragmatic Play, consisting of 6 reels, 5 rows, and a Scatter Pays mechanic. Wins occur when 8-12 matching symbols appear anywhere on the grid, regardless of their position.
The highest-paying here is the Red Heart, followed by a variety of Shapes, Gummy Bears, & Fruit. When a win is confirmed, a fixed payout between 0.25x and 50x your bet is awarded, where applicable. This game does not include Wild symbols.
After a win evaluation, the Avalanche Feature destroys all winning symbols, creating room for new symbols to fall in from above. All remaining symbols will drop to the bottom of the grid and continue until no new winning combinations occur in a spin.
Multiplier Spots
Once a winning combination is removed from the grid, each winning position is marked with a Frame. After the second winning combination occurs on a marked position, it will activate a Multiplier Frame of x2.
Each additional winning combination after this will double the current Multiplier Frame, up to a maximum of x128. Each winning combination as part of a Multiplier Frame will have its payout multiplied by the combined Multiplier value.
At the start of a new base game spin, the Multiplier Frames are removed.
Sweet Rush Bonanza Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins mode requires 4, 5, or 6 Lollipop Scatters to land anywhere in the base game, awarding 10 Free Spins and a payout of 0.1x, 0.25x, & 5x your bet, respectively.
During this mode, each Multiplier Frame created does not reset between spins, increasing with subsequent avalanche events, up to a maximum of x128 per frame. Lastly, revealing 4 or more Lollipop Scatters awards an additional +10 Free Spins.
Special Bets & Bonus Buy
Players may purchase any of the following Special Bet & Bonus Buy options:
- Ante Bet: Each spin is 10 times more likely to trigger the Free Spins mode for 3x your bet per spin
- Super Spin 1: One spin with a full grid of Multiplier Frames of a random value for 20x your bet
- Super Spin 2: One spin with a full grid of X32 Multiplier Frames for 250x your bet
- Free Spins: Triggers the Free Spins mode with 4, 5, or 6 Scatters for 100x your bet

Sweet Rush Bonanza has a maximum win potential of 5,000x your bet. If a single session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Sweet Rush Bonanza is a simple idea when you strip down its parts. It’s simply an amalgamation of Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush, but does it work? Absolutely. It’s the release that we didn’t know we needed, but we’re here for it.
The grid isn’t as big as Sugar Rush; it’s trying to retain more of its Sweet Bonanza heritage, evidenced further by its scatter pays mechanic, which makes forming wins a little easier. It also spreads out the multipliers more evenly across the grid, rather than a concentrated spot that resulted from the cluster pays wins in Sugar Rush.
The Ante Bet feature in this game is excellent, too. Options to increase the feature chance, bring forth random multipliers or 32x multipliers on each grid position make it feel very varied, and extremely exciting, as does its bonus round.
Its Super Bonus feels strange. Does such a steep increase in buy price warrant the first multiplier increment on each position? Surprisingly yes. As expected, it’s much more effective, but the standard bonus can quickly ramp up too, if you’re lucky.
Sweet Rush Bonanza feels a lot more capable than it actually is. It has a 5,000x win cap, which is a bit low compared to the new 10,000x standard that we’ve seen across the industry. We’ll probably get a Sweet Rush Bonanza 1000, which will significantly bolster potential, but for now, this does just fine.
Overall, Sweet Rush Bonanza doesn’t feel like a significant reinvention, but why fix what isn’t broken? Why not just put them together instead?
