Tales of Silver Megaways Slot Review 2024
Ahoy there mateys! Get ready to set sail with iSoftBet as we head out on a swashbuckling adventure in their latest Twisted Tale release, Tales of Silver Megaways!
Following Twisted Tale tradition, iSoftBet has chosen to base their latest Twisted Tale slot around the popular novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1883, Treasure Island. Every Twisted Tale title needs a villian and there’s no one better suited for the part than Long John Silver himself.
We’ve fought off our fair share of baddies in iSoftBet’s Twisted Tale series, including Morgana, Cardinal Richelieu, Dracula and even Scrooge himself, but will Long John Silver be our toughest battle yet? Let’s play on and find out!
Tales of Silver Megaways Base Game and Features
Tales of Silver Megaways is a 6 reel slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€200 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Tales of Silver Megaways has a theoretical RTP of 96.11%.
Tales of Silver Megaways features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination forms, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above, filling all empty positions.
In addition to this, Tales of Silver Megaways also has an additional Sliding Reel atop the main reel set. If one or more of the symbols in the sliding reel is used as part of a winning combination, they will also be removed and all remaining symbols will move one position to the left and new symbols will be added to the right-most side of the reel.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is Long John Silver himself, followed by the Gun, Compass and Telescope. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Nine.
During gameplay, you will come across Wilds and Mystery symbols. Wilds are only present on the top Sliding Reel and substitute for all other symbols except Scatters.
Mystery symbols in the form of Bronze Coins will land randomly across the reels, revealing the same High or Low-paying symbol (excluding Wilds or Scatters).
Max Megaways
During any random spin in the base game, the Max Megaways modifier can trigger.
Once this happens, a distinct background animation will flash up and the Max Megaways title will appear, causing the reels to land the maximum number of Megaways available of 117,649.
Tales of Silver Megaways Free Spins
Landing 4 or more Scatters in any position across the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 12 Free Spins. Each additional Scatter after the intial 4 required will award an extra +5 Free Spins, up to a maximum of 27.
Landing 3 or 4 Scatters across the additional Sliding Reel during Free Spins will award +5 and +10 Free Spins respectively.
Unlimited Multiplier
During Free Spins, an unlimited Multiplier starting at x1 is active.
After each Cascade, the Multiplier will increase by x1 and does not reset between each Free Spin. Mystery symbols are also in play during the Free Spins round.
Tales of Silver Megaways Bonus Buy
For those of you who are outside the UK, you will benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
iSoftBet has granted players access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 75x your current bet.
Tales of Silver Megaways: Our Verdict
Tales of Silver Megaways can be commended on its stunning visuals, but when it comes to gameplay, it’s a fairly standard Megaways slot.
The most traditional idea of a Megaways slot is a game with cascading reels, up to 117,649 ways to win, an unlimited multiplier and perhaps even a couple of staple features like Max Megaways in the mix…and that’s exactly what Tales of Silver Megaways is.
We love iSoftBet slots, but we’re sad to say that this one is devoid of any real innovation in terms of gameplay.
There’s potential there, and we’ve seen it before it in games that do exactly the same thing. Games like Tales of Silver can prove to be reliable go-tos for Megaways fans, but if you’re looking for something that pushes the Megaways Mechanic to its limits then Tales of Silver Megaways isn’t really it.
Not everything needs to be true innovation. Tried and true is fine now and again, and Tales of Silver Megaways does a good job at immersing you in a life on the briny seas with the free and adeventure-loving pirates.
