The Goonies Megaways Special Features
This part of the review is dedicated to the special features; Cashpots, Cash Collect, and Hey You Guys.
During gameplay, special Cash symbols with random values appear on all reels. Also in play are 4 Cashpot symbols; Mini (20x your bet), Minor (50x your bet), Major (200x your bet), and Mega (2,500x your bet). Cash and Cashpot symbols are only awarded when a Cash Collect symbol lands on reel 6.
Cash Collect
When Cash/Cashpot symbols land on reels 1-6, along with a Collect symbol on reel 6, the Cash Collect feature is triggered. The Collect symbol will expand to fill the entire 6th reel, collecting all Cash/Cashpot values currently in view.
Collecting a Cashpot symbol will award the total value of the pot. Each Collect symbol in view will increment the Unlock Trail by +1 position. Reaching a special Icon on this trail will activate a new area of the game.
- Dual Collect – Requires 2 Collect symbols. This makes any Collect symbol active on reels 1 and 6.
- Streak Collect – Requires 5 Collect symbols. Streak Collect holds any Cash symbols in view while the reels spin again. New Cash symbols that land will trigger an additional Respin.
- Boost Collect – Requires 8 Collect symbols. Boost Collect will boost all Cash values in view before being collected.
- Multi-x Collect – Requires 12 Collect symbols. Multi-x Collect will collect all Cash symbols in view up to 5 times.
- Fortune Wheel – Requires 17 Collect symbols. When a Cash Collect and Fortune Wheel land at the same time, a ship’s wheel will appear and award either a fixed Pot Prize or Mystery Win.
- Treasure Blitz Super Spin – Requires 20 Collect symbols and unlocks the Treasure Blitz Super Spin round.

Hey You Guys!
The Hey You Guys feature can be randomly awarded during any spin, awarding one of the following Modifiers.

On the initial Super Spin, collecting 13 Cash, Cashpot, or Fortune Wheel symbols will award the Pick a Key option. Conclusion
Since the release of The Goonies slot in October 2018, Blueprint Gaming have tried tirelessly to recreate the love of the original in the titles that followed, still, they’re yet to come up with one that is anywhere near as triumphant in our eyes…until now?
The Goonies Megaways has strong features and modifiers, although not many of them, if any, are reminiscent of the original. This game is more along the lines of The Goonies Hey You Guys through its use of Cash Collect symbols and Cashpot Prizes.
The Unlock Trail is a fun new addition to gameplay, where each Cash Collect contributes towards your climb to unlocking the Treasure Blitz Super Spin, although we were taken aback when our progress on the Unlock Trail was lost during a reload. Whether a technical issue or not, please keep this in mind when playing.
All in all, The Goonies Megaways is a compelling addition to the series thanks to the Megaways mechanic and its use of intriguing features/modifiers, yet it doesn’t shine as bright as the original.
