Toro 7s Slot Review 2021

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas and that’s exactly how Toro and Matador plan to keep it in Toro 7s by Elk Studios!

Toro continues his trip around the World, and this time we’re in the United States where Toro is looking to have a flutter on the machines himself for once. A roadtrip to Sin City doesn’t mean that Toro isn’t willing to stick it to his rival, the Matador yet again though!

Elk Studios were relatively quiet with Toro up until they went full on with many different releases featuring the popular stud. Wild Toro was of course the original release, but very recently we’ve been treated to Wild Toro II, Book of Toro, and now Toro 7s!

Will this be it for the hunky Toro? or are there many adventures yet to come?

Who knows, for now though, let’s enjoy a road trip with Toro and hit Las Vegas in style!

Toro 7s Base Game

Toro 7s Theme

We had an inkling where Toro 7s was heading and the biggest clue is in the title, but you can imagine our surprise when we saw that Elk Studios has gone full on retro by bringing back the old school fruit machine with a modern makeover. It’s a lot like Marmite, you’re either going to love it or hate it!

The background puts us on the last road to Vegas, with an abandoned rollercoaster on the right, water-deprived trees and age-old signs in need of a little TLC. The beautiful fire red sunset hangs over our heads, as the Vegas lights draw us closer to our destination. As Toro drives through Sin City, you will see the sights of Las Vegas with famous landmarks like the Welcome to Vegas sign. This changes when you trigger Free Spins, with Toro taking to the road behind the wheel of a red convertible.

The music that can be heard playing throughout is catchy and upbeat, what you may notice is that its actually a radio station with the radio presenter announcing the band and song name on a loop. If you can’t deal with the music playing ‘over and over and over’ again, you can always just mute it or turn it off in the settings.

Old school fruity machines can be heard ringing out in the background which further reinforces the vegas theme, all while giving us a sense of nostalgia with the sounds of slots in their purest form

Overall, Toro 7’s really does well to relate you given the simplicity of the design. We like the high definition graphics either side of the reels, and the classic, pixel low resolution animations atop the reels.

Toro 7s Base Game and Features

Toro 7s is a 3 reel slot with 17 fixed paylines. To form a win you will need to connect 3 of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

Elk Studios are just full of suprises when it comes to Toro 7s, not only has Elk opted for a 3 reel fruit machine mechanic, they’ve even gone so far as to throw in a Nudging Wilds feature, along with a Lucky Sevens bonus round in Free Spins!

Nudging Wilds

During any random spin in the base game, landing either a Matador or Toro Wild on certain reels, triggers the Nudging Wilds feature.

Toro Wild

Landing a Toro Wild symbol on reel 3 will activate the Nudging Wilds Feature. Although the Toro and Matador symbols are both Wild, the Toro symbol is equipped with a x5 Multiplier.

Once a Toro symbol lands, Toro will nudge down one position at a time until he disappears from the reel, generating a Respin with each step he takes.

Matador Wild

Landing a Matador symbol on reel 2 will also activate the Nudging Wilds feature.

Once a Matador Wild lands in view, Matador will nudge down one position at a time until he disappears from the reel, genearting a Respin with each step he takes.

If Toro and Matador come into play at the same time, Toro will lock into position, until the Matador Wild disappears from the reels. Once Matador has left the reel, Toro will unlock and continue to nudge down until he also disappears from view.

Toro 7s Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters during the base game, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. All Free Spins are played on a x5 Multiplier.

During Free Spins, landing 3 Scatters will automatically trigger the Lucky Sevens bonus round, awarding 3 Respins.

In the Lucky Sevens round, you will need to collect Green 7s on reel 1, Blue 7s on reel 2 and Red 7s on reel 3 to advance up the Lucky Sevens ladder.

Landing the correct colour 7 on the reel or any Line Win, will reset the Respins back to 3.

If you manage to collect 5 of each 7 symbol during the Respins, you will be awarded with the maximum prize on the ladder.

Toro 7s X-Iter

Elk Studios have once again included their trademarked X-iter Feature in Toro 7’s, but once again, it’s only available to player outside of the UK.

This is because the X-iter Feature is essentially a bonus buy, but with a twist. With this feature, you can buy your way into various different features of the game, with a varying cost depending on what you choose

  • Chili Spin – 1 High Volatility Spin at the cost of 5x your bet
  • Nudging Respins – 1 Spin with a guaranteed Matador, Toro, or both at the cost of 10x your bet
  • Nudging Chili respins – 1 High volatility spin with a guaranteed Matador, Toro, or both at the cost of 25x your bet
  • Bonus – Guarantees entry to the Bonus mode at the cost of 100x your bet
  • Super Chili Bonus – Guarantees entry to a high volatility Super Bonus mode with a progressive multiplier that increases for every nudge, Free Spin and Lucky Sevens Feature. Costs 500x your bet.

Toro 7s Our Verdict

Elk Studios has done a tremendous job at bringing us yet another captivating Toro title.

When you first load up Toro 7’s, you’re instantly a bit confused and miffed about what seemingly looks like a downgrade for the formidable stud Toro, but a closer inspection of the game reveals a lot more than what initially meets the eye.

For a 3 reel slot, Toro 7’s is absolutely packed full of exciting features and potential. The lifelong rivalry between the Matador and Toro is alive and well in Toro 7’s, and Elk Studios have once again found a way to make it into an exciting game feature.

However, Toro 7s is a little bit of a bittersweet release for those within the UK once again. The X-iter feature is great, but it’s out of reach for those of us within the UK. It wouldn’t be so bad if Elk Studios took a Nolimit City approach to their games, with Super Bonuses attainable through normal play, but they haven’t yet. Lack of these means that UK players will never see a Super Bonus, which is kind of sad.

Other than that, Toro 7s is deceptively good. Others have tried to build upon a classic 3 reel format, and some have succeeded in doing so, but we dare say that Toro 7s is the new king with everything it brings to the table.
