After turning heads with the release of Buzz Thrill, DreamSpin left us feeling buzzed for their next release, which came in the form of rotten, thug-like fruits ready to do damage on the reels of Backstreet Wilds.
While it’s been a torturous wait between the two releases, DreamSpin has definitely picked up the pace, and the proof is in their next release, Wizards of Wild Wood, which is set for release only 2 months after Backstreet Wilds.
Wizards of Wild Wood has us exploring a realm of magic & mystery, greeted by a wise, old Wizard rocking a spectacular beard and purple-jewelled robes. This old chap may look like he’s ready for retirement, but he’s still got a few tricks up his sleeve, and he’s willing to show them on the grid.
Utilising a 7×7, Cluster Pays format, each spin can conjure up Cell Multipliers, 4 dynamic Modifiers, a structured Free Spins mode, and a special Wizard Enhance feature. With a fixed RTP of 94% and a medium volatility score, Wizards of Wild Wood has a sizable maximum win potential of 10,000x the bet.
Get ready to take a leaf from the elder Wizard’s brimming spellbook & cast your own magical wins on the reels…

Base Game & Features
Wizards of Wild Wood is a 7-reel, 7-row video slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. Paytable symbols trigger wins when 5-20 identical symbols fall horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid.
Mushrooms act as the highest-paying symbol, followed by Bats, Frogs, Wolves, and Red, Blue, Green, & Yellow Runes. Once the grid has settled, each winning cluster awards a fixed payout between 0.2x and 25x your bet.
Furthermore, Wild symbols are part of 4 Modifiers, substituting for all symbols except Scatters & Cauldrons. Finally, the Avalanche Feature activates for every winning cluster on the grid. Each winning cluster is removed from view, allowing a new set of symbols to fill empty cell positions from above.

Cell Multipliers & Wizard Enhance
Each spin begins with all cell positions on a x0 Multiplier. As each spin occurs, multiple cell positions can reveal a random Progressive Multiplier, which can result in the same cell position increasing more than once.
Additionally, during an avalanche event, the Wizard may randomly increase 1 or more Cell Multipliers. Each time a Multiplier is selected for an increase, it can do so up to 3 Levels:
- 0 Multiplier Cells: Increase to x2, x3, or x5
- x2 Multiplier Cells: Increase to x3, x5, or x10
- x3 Multiplier Cells: Increase to x5, x10, or x25
- x5 Multiplier Cells: Increase to x10 or x25
- x10 Multiplier Cells: Increase to x25
- x25 Multiplier Cells: Cannot increase any further
Thanks to the 3 Levels, random cell positions with zero Multipliers can advance to x5, with the potential to increase again to x25 at the start of any random spin. While the progression of each level is not visibly shown, a single cell can advance from x0 to x25 in the blink of an eye.
Each cell Multiplier is revealed in the bottom corner, applying its current value to any high or low-paying symbol that appears within it. With each avalanche event, when symbols drop down, the available Cell Multipliers do not move.
Once a win has been evaluated, including a Cell Multiplier, its value is applied to the cluster win. If more than 1 Cell Multiplier is part of the same winning cluster, their values are added together & applied to the win.

Modifiers
During gameplay, each time a Cauldron symbol appears on the grid, it is removed & replaced with a Wild symbol. Clusters of 5+ Wild symbols will count as a high-paying (Mushroom) win, awarding the same payout value as the Mushrooms, according to the paytable.
When no further winning combinations occur, the collected Cauldron symbols are activated in order of Liquid Colour, awarding the following outcomes:
- Magnet (blue): All instances of a random paytable symbol gather into a single winning cluster on the grid, triggering an avalanche event. Wild symbols cannot be selected, but will also move alongside the chosen symbol as part of the winning cluster.
- Alteration (purple): All instances of a random paytable symbol will transform into another high or low-paying symbol, excluding Wilds.
- Add Wilds (yellow): Up to 5 Wild symbols are randomly positioned on the grid. Please note that Wild symbols cannot be placed on top of existing Wilds or Scatters.
- Guaranteed Win (red): The Wizard singles out a random grid position and alters it to create a winning cluster of at least 5 symbols. Wild symbols & Scatters cannot be transformed during this modifier.
If more than 1 Modifier has been collected in the same spin, they will activate in the order of collection. Please note that Modifiers will only trigger once the grid has settled all winning payouts & the Avalanche Feature has finished.

Wizards of Wild Wood: Free Spins
Landing 3 Scatters in the same base game spin triggers the Free Spins session, awarding 10 Free Spins. For every Scatter symbol beyond the third, an additional +1 Free Spin is guaranteed.
In the Free Spins session, 3 or more cell positions are granted a Multiplier Upgrade. Furthermore, the Wizard may also enhance Cell Multipliers when a winning cluster occurs in those positions, up to a maximum of x26, which do not reset between spins.
Each Scatter symbol that hits will award an additional +1 Free Spin, and the session ends when no Free Spins remain.

DreamBet
For an additional 50% of their current bet, players can participate in the DreamBet Feature, where each spin has an increased chance of triggering Free Spins, for a chance to win up to 10,000x their bet in max win potential.
Our Honest Verdict
Wizards of Wild Wood is a fairly tame outing when compared to the chaos & adrenaline of Buzz Thrill or Backstreet Wilds. It feels intentionally more measured, and in practice, it comes across as a wager-friendly slot that doesn’t punish your balance too quickly.
During testing, gameplay ticked over at a comfortable pace, offering that rare sense of being able to settle in for a longer session without fearing a rapid decline in your balance. While it’s not as punchy or explosive as some of the provider’s higher-volatility releases, there’s still plenty to get excited about.
The game sits comfortably in that middle ground where most players will find enough engagement & potential without the extreme swings of intensely volatile slots. It’s smoother, steadier, & built for sustained play rather than high-risk theatrics.
In terms of features, Wizards of Wild Wood falls upon a set of familiar but effective Modifiers. The magnet cauldron pulls symbols together in a way reminiscent of Push Gaming’s Retro Tapes, and it sits alongside Alterations, Wilds & guaranteed wins.
What’s great is that several modifiers can hit in the same spin, and watching them stack & fire one after another adds a lively sense of momentum to otherwise modest spins. Cell Multipliers, meanwhile, help enhance small wins into something more promising, while the Free Spins mode keeps things refreshingly simple with multipliers that don’t reset.
There is, however, no Bonus Buy option for those who prefer to shortcut the grind, but the DreamBet Feature does a good job of increasing its frequency without pushing the game too far from its intended pace.
All in all, Wizards of Wild Wood is a charming & more approachable slot that carries enough energy to keep players thoroughly engaged.
