RIP City Base Game and Features
RIP City is a 5 reel slot with 19 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options inbetween the two. RIP City has a theoretical RTP of 96.22% and a max win cap of 12,500x.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol here is the 8-Ball, followed by the Smiley Face, Dice, Skull and Banana. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. Regular Wild and Cat Wild symbols substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols in the paytable.
Wild Cat Symbols
During the base game, both Wilds and Wild Cat symbols can appear across the reels.
When a Wild Cat symbol hits and forms a win, it will expand downwards to fill the reel it is on. Expanded Wild Cat symbols act as Wilds for every position the expanded symbol covers.
Wild Cat symbols that do not expand act as a single Wild symbol, with each reel only able to hold 1 Wild Cat symbol at a time.
If a Wild Cat symbol is present on the same reel as a regular wild, it will expand through it, turning into a Multiplier between x2 and x200. This multiplier is applied to the entire Cat Wild symbol when expanded.
If a winning combination has more than 1 expanded Cat Wild with a Multiplier, both multiplier values will be added together and applied to the win.
RIP City Free Spins
During the base game, you will have the opportunity to land 1 of 2 exciting Bonus rounds, known as the Ro$$ Bonus and Maxx Bonus. More on these below!
Ro$$ Free Spins
Landing 3 FS Scatters across the reel set in any position triggers the Ro$$ Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
During Ro$$ Free Spins, you will have an increased chance of landing Wild Cat and regular Wild symbols than in the base game.
Landing 3 FS Scatters during this round will award an additional +4 Free Spins. Landing 4 FS Scatters will automatically trigger the Maxx Free Spins round at the end of the current spin.
Maxx Free Spins
Landing 4 FS Scatters across the reel set in any position triggers the Maxx Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.
During Maxx Free Spins, each reel can be activated by landing a Wild Cat symbol on it. Once a reel is active, a Wild Cat symbol is guaranteed to land on that particular reel for all remaining Free Spins.
Landing 3 FS Scatters during this round will award an additional +4 Free Spins.

RIP City: Our Verdict
RIP City looks like another Hacksaw Classic from our point of view, but what does ‘Hacksaw Classic’ really mean?
Is it brutal? yes. Can it open a metaphoric plug hole and drain your balance as if it was water? Absolutely. However, it has all of the great things that makes a Hacksaw just that too. It has plenty in the way of features and lots to experience, big potential, profound and interesting visuals and that little bit of ‘edge’ that we love from Hacksaw Gaming.
RIP City is as gritty as you’d expect from the creators of Chaos Crew, and we’ve said it time and time again that this is where Hacksaw Gaming thrives. Forget the nausiatingly chipper atmosphere of Hop’n’POP, and forget the disgustingly cheerful King Carrot. Darkness is what you desire from Hacksaw Gaming, and its hard not to love it when they pull it off so well.
Unforutnately, being a Hacksaw Classic means also that it resonates more with players able to buy the bonus. Hacksaw Gaming slots are notoriously unforgiving at times, and to UK players, the mere whisper of their name can evoke a sense of fear and bring back all the repressed memories of times where their games have not pulled punches. There’s certainly potential in the Base Game with Wild Cat Symbols, but for any real excitement you’ll be wanting of those bound rounds.
Overall, RIP City certainly doesn’t stand out as one of Hacksaw Gaming’s finest works, but it’s entertaining, interesting and very capable with up to 12,500x as a maximum win.
