Saint Nicked Slot Review 2022

Santa has got himself in a whole heap of trouble in Blueprint Gaming partner Lucksome’s latest release, Saint Nicked!

Taking some time off before the big day, Santa and Rudolph head out to their local bar for what should have been a quiet pint or two, but after realising they should have stopped at one and called it a night, ended up getting themselves in a little bit of trouble.

Here it is Ladies and Gents, our first christmas themed review of the year and what a better way to set the festivities in motion than with a slightly comedic slot called Saint Nicked courtesy of Lucksome.

Lucksome are known for their quirky and clever slots including Voodoo Temple, Bon Bomb Luxpots and the rather appealing Gates of Etherea, but how will Saint Nicked compare to these?

Saint Nicked Base Game and Features

Saint Nicked is a 5 reel slot with up to 3,125 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€40 per spin, with an ample selection of betting options in between the two. Saint Nicked has a theoretical RTP of 96.15% and a maximum win capacity of 5,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Saint Nicked is Rudolph, followed by the Whiskey Glass, Bag of Presents and Furry Handcuffs. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten. There is also a Wild symbol present which is represented by Santa and substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols.

Sticking to what they’re good at, Lucksome has thrown in some game-changing features including Santastic Multipliers, a Bar Meter, Happy Hour and an epic Advent Calendar. More on these below!

Santastic Multipliers

During the base game, if a Santa Wild and Rudolph symbol form a winning combination, a random Multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5 will be applied to all wins for that particular spin.

If a Santa Wild and Rudolph symbol form a winning combination during the Free Spins round, a random Multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x15 or x25 will be applied to all wins for that particular spin.

Bar Meter

On the left side of the reel set sits a Bar Meter.

During the base game, a Beer symbol can land at the same time as any of the symbols in the paytable. Once this happens, the Beer symbol will be stored in the Bar Meter which contributes towards filling the meter to the first level.

When the Bar Meter reaches or exceeds the safety level, an Advent Calendar will emerge and you will be awarded the first calendar prize. If you reach the next safety level, the advent calendar will emerge once again and the next calendar prize is awarded.

If the Bar Meter reahces or exceeds a safety level, it cannot go below that safety level until the next advent calendar prize is triggered.

Advent Calendar

There are 24 Bauble doors and a 25th star door at the top filled with a mixture of Cash Prizes and Free Games. Each door is opened one by one in numerical order, with the 25th door as the last Prize to be opened.

There are 3 types of Baubles available on the advent calendar, each with their own sepcific trigger values.

• Green Baubles (Good) – 20 Collections.
• Red Baubles (Great) – 40 Collections.
• Yellow Baubles (Better) – 60 Collections.
• Star (Door 25) – 100 Collections. The star will award a varying number of Free Games. 

When you reach the 25th Door on the advent calendar the first time, the advent calendar is classed as Completed. After this, the star will be the only Prize available during any base game spin and the safety level will be locked at 60 upon advent calendar completion.

Happy Hour

At any time during the base game, the Happy Hour feature can trigger randomly. Once this happens, a random amount of Beer symbols will be added across the reels.

Saint Nicked Free Spins

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in any position across the reels will trigger the Free Spins round, awarding 5, 10 and 20 Free Spins respectively. The Free Spins round can also be triggered through the Advent Calendar feature.

During the Free Spins round, Santastic Multipliers are increased in value between x2 and x25. The reel set takes on an extra 2 rows at the top which increases the ways to win, but they begin locked at the start.

Landing a Key symbol during Free Spins will unlock one of the locked positions above it and award an additional +1 Free Spin. If all locked reel positions become unlocked, the maximum amount of ways of 3,125 is in play.

In addition to Key symbols, the Free Spins round also has a Package symbol in play which will also award an additional +1 Free Spin when in view.

Saint Nicked Bonus Buy

For those of you who are outside the UK, you will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Lucksome has granted players access to 2 Bonus Buy options, which are as follows.

• Delux – Awards the Free Spins round for a total cost of 100x your current bet.
• Double Lux – Awards the Free Spins round for a total cost of 300x your current bet, but offers a 2nd chance if your Bonus Win is less than 60x your current bet.

The RTP when purchasing either of the Free Spins options increases slightly from 96.15% to 96.43%.

Saint Nicked: Our Verdict

Santa behaving badly is always a humourous concept; that much is proven in the popularity of the movie ‘Bad Santa’.

Lucksome’s version of Santa is equally as indecent, improper and misbehaved.

Throughout gameplay we heard a slurred inebriated santa say ‘Your sack is bigger than mine’. Why thank you Santa, we’re glad somebody noticed, but rest assured, his sack of presents is just as impressive.

Santastic Multipliers, Advent Calendar and Happy Hour Features makes Saint Nicked diverse and entertaining. There’s certainly enough going on going on to keep you entertaining like a Christmas slot should, and we haven’t even got to Free Spins yet.

During Free Spins the Santastic Multipliers are increased for even more potential, and the potential is rather impressive indeed with up to 5,000x as a maximum win.

It may be a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, but Saint Nicked caught our eye, and it’s never too early for a beer or two, even if you are Santa Claus.
