We’re in 15th century Japan for this instalment in a ‘hidden village of spirits is filled to the brim with power’. Power = humongous wins, we guess, or at least we hope. If previous Print Studios slots are anything to go by then we’re in for a treat with Shinobi Spirit, so without further ado let’s dive right in.

Shinobi Spirit Base Game and Features

Shinobi Spirit is a 5-reel slot with 26 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€50 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Shinobi Spirit has a theoretical RTP of 96.26% and a max win cap of 20,000x.

Shinobi Spirit: Shinobi Bonus

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Mask Scatters across the reels will grant you entry into the Shinobi Bonus. Landing 4 or 5 Mask Scatters will award a payout of 20x and 100x your bet respectively.

During the Shinobi Bonus, a Shinobi symbol will start with 3 Lives. Each new spin will deduct -1 Life from the Shinobi symbol. If a Bamboo Prize symbol lands on the same row as a Shinobi symbol, it will be slashed and the Prize Value awarded, restoring +1 Life to the Shinobi symbol.

Each Bambo Prize that is slashed will have its Prize Value doubled. During any spin, new Shinobi symbols can appear on the reels, including a variety of Hidden Powers, as follows.

• Green Cube – Adds its value to all remaining Bamboo Prize symbols in view.
• Mask – The Shinobi symbol will go into a frenzy, slashing its way from the Mask’s position to the edge of the slashed direction, repeating the process until there are no more targets in view.
• Blade – The Shinobi symbol will slash in the best new direction that is perpendicular to his current direction. This will occur once.
• Dragon Sword – All Bamboo Prize symbols slashed by the Shinobi symbol will occur twice for as long as the Shinobi symbol is active.

Golden Shinobi Symbol

The Golden Shinobi symbol can be slashed in the same way the regular Shinobi symbol does, with 6 Lives active instead of 3.

Each time a Golden Shinobi symbol slashes its way through a Bamboo Prize symbol, the Prize Value of those symbols is then added to all remaining Bamboo Prize symbols in view.

Shinobi Spirit Bonus Buy

Those outside the UK will have access to a Bonus Buy option. Print Studios has granted players access to the Scatter Boost feature and Shinobi Bonus for a total cost of 0.5x and 100x your bet respectively. (Shinobi Bonus Buy RTP 97.18%)

Shinobi Spirit: Our Verdict

Shinobi Spirit really is another brilliantly imaginative slot from Print Studios. We’d encourage players to see it through until the bonus round is reached because that’s where Shinobi Spirit really shows its stuff.

The Base Game can feel fairly standard at times but features like the Bamboo Power can quickly liven things up, especially if it hits the big 10,000x prize. Other than that, the bonus round is what you came for, and what a bonus round it can be. Shinobi Spirit comes to life with plenty of modifiers that makes collecting values around the board easier, and momentum can quickly build to create astronomical wins. We’re a fan of the life system in Shinobi Spirit, because when you’re lucky the bonus just goes on and on, but the opposite can be true if you’re unlucky as well.

Shinobi Spirit looks quite incredible from a statistical perspective with up to 20,000x as a maximum win. It’s hard to argue with the appeal of this slot with stats like that, but Shinobi Spirit’s appeal extends far beyond its capabilities. It’s a well-built and clever game with that unmistakable touch of quality that we love from Print Studios.

Shinobi Spirit may or may not become a smash hit, but the TLC that went into making it is evident, and we think it takes its place proudly amidst a catalogue of games that continues to impress players everywhere.
