Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win Base Game and Features

Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win is a 5 reel slot with 20 fixed paylines. Forming a winning combination requires 3 or more of the same symbol type to land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€200 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win is the Cupcake, followed by the Ice Cream, Donut and Gummy Sweet.

Low-paying symbols fall to a collection of confectionary. The Purple sweet has the highest pay value, followed by the Blue, Orange and Pink sweets. There is also a Wild symbol present which substitutes for all symbols except Scatters and Star symbols.

Sweet Rocket Wilds

At the end of any random base game spin, the Sweet Rocket Wilds modifier can tbe awarded.

Once this happens, a Rocket will fly across the screen and drop up to 5 Smartie Bombs anywhere on the reels. The smartie bombs will then Explode and replace all symbols (excluding Scatters and Star symbols) with a Wild symbol.

Sweet-eor Shower

Another sweet treat to occur at the end of any random base game spin whenever there are 2 Scatter symbols present is the Sweet-eor Shower modifier.

Once this occurs, one of the reels will Respin and automatically land the 3rd Scatter needed to trigger the Sweet Sticky Wild Free Spins round.

Hold & Win Bonus

Landing 5 or more Star symbols in any position on the reels triggers the Hold & Win Bonus round, awarding 3 Respins.

As per most Hold & Win rounds, each time a new Star symbol lands in view it will become Sticky and will remain in its fixed position for the duration of Respins which will then reset the Respins Meter back to 3.

All Star symbols will come equipped with their own unique Cash Value between 1x and 200x which will be multiplied by your total bet at the end of the Hold & Win round. In addition to this, there is also 3 Jackpot Prizes up for grabs during this round, as follows.

• Minor – Awards 30x your current bet.
• Major – Awards 50x your current bet.
• Grand – Awards 200x your current bet.

During the Hold & Win Bonus, you may come across UFOs which deliver one of the following Modifiers.

UFO Collector

When the UFO Collector appears in view, it will Collect up all current Cash Values from the star symbols and store them withtin the UFO collector, removing all star symbols from the reels.

The UFO collector can collect any star symbol including those with a Jackpot Prize attached to them, but is unable to collect another UFO Collector.

UFO Payer

At any random point during the Hold & Win Bonus round, the UFO Payer can appear over the reels. Once this happens, it may produce a Multiplier value of x2, x3 or x5.

The UFO Payer will then choose a Star symbol at random and apply the awarded Multiplier to it, leaving the screen once it is done. The UFO Payer is unable to Multiply any UFO Collectors in view, but it can multiply any present Jackpot Prize Stars on the reels.

Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win Sweet Sticky Wild Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatter symbols in any position on the reels triggers the Sweet Sticky Wild Free Spins round, awarding 8 Free Spins.

Any Wild symbols that may be present at the time will remain in their current positions for the duration of Free Spins. In addition to this, all Wild symbols will present themselves with a Multiplier value of x2, x3 or x5.

If a winning combination consists of more than 1 Wild symbol, their current Multiplier values will be added together and applied to that particular win.

The Sweet Sticky Wild Free Spins round cannot be retriggered.

Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win: Our Verdict

We’ve seen our fair share of confectionary and galaxy themed slots in our time in titles like Sugar Rush, Tasty Treats, Rocket Reels and Space Miners, but have we ever seen both themes combined? We can’t say that we have, that is until now of course.

First impressions of Stars n’ Sweets Hold & Win is good, there is a nice mixture of both themes in the design although its evident that the galaxy theme takes the lead a little more so. Not only is the theme a winner here, but gameplay also earns itself some brownie points with an ample selection of exciting features and 2 Bonus rounds.

The base game features, Sweet Rocket Wilds and the Sweet-eor Shower (we love the play on words here) are quite the sweet treat, especially the Sweet-eor Shower which always delivers the 3rd Scatter needed to trigger the Free Spins round. You may be wincing at the thought of another Hold & Win round, but it’s one you won’t want to miss thanks to the UFO Modifiers.
