Here from NetEnt with an updated version of an old Classic, Twin Spin Megaways Slot promises all that Megaways excitement that we know so well, as well as some interesting features.
Twin Spin Deluxe didn’t quite hit the spot, and wasn’t a huge favourite among players, and Net Ent realise this and are trying to take the game in a new direction, making it bigger and better with a lot more potential than previously possible.
The glitz and the glam of a classic theme are here with them Las Vegas vibes, and we’re excited and intrigued to see what change of pace Big Time Gaming’s Megaways licence can bring to the table.
NetEnt regularly deliver world class games to the market, with multi-channel content that makes their games accessible anytime and anywhere, whether it’s Mobile, Desktop or Retail.
They have iconic games including Gonzo’s Quest, Starbust, Vikings, along with the fiercely volatile Dead or Alive series, and many more that has imprinted on the way we assess quality and entertainment.
With proven track history, Twin Spin Megaways certainly has the name behind it to make it great, but can it live up to some of these games that have become, in some form, household names among slot players everywhere?
The theme in Twin Spin Megaways hasn’t changed much from the first, but familiarity is good when you’re revamping an older game. It’s definitely a lot shinier and sleeker than the original was, complete with extravagant classic fruity symbols, reminiscent of an older era of playing.
The music has a classic 70’s/80’s funk theme, which really puts you in the mood. It’ll make you want to polish off them platform shoes and have a little grove, and who could blame you if you did?
Overall, it’s simple yet effective in theme, and really what you make of it. Whether it’s pub fruities, Las Vegas or Disco, let your imagination run wild.
Twin Spin Megaways is rather audacious when it comes to the betting options available, especially for a Megaways Slot. Traditionally, you might see Megaways games go up to a max of £20 per spin, but Twin Spin Megaways is going hard, with a maximum stake of £200.
The imagination can only wonder what kind of monster hits would materialise from such a massive stake, and what kind of bank roll you’d need to even spin that high.
Bravery or stupidity, you decide, but if you live in the real world and play realistic stakes, you’ll be happy to know that much lower bets are available, with the bottom option being £0.10. Many other options are available between the two extremes, more than enough in fact to suit everyone’s needs.
In regards to symbols, there are 11 regular paying symbols, the top of which is the figurehead Diamond. 7, BAR, Bell and Cherry are other high paying symbols, and A, K, Q, J, 10 & 9 are your low paying symbols
The game also features a Wild Symbol, which can appear on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, and substitute for all but the scatter symbol.
We all know how the modern staple that is Megaways works by now, but for those that don’t, you’ll win when 3 symbols match from left to right starting from the left most reel.
Every spin, the number of symbols landing on every reel will be random, ranging from 2 to 7, which will collectively determine the Megaways, or ways to win.
The maximum number of ways to win is 117,648 when all reels display 7 symbols each. Higher Megaways yields the potential for bigger and better wins, as winning combinations are more likely.
The game also features an avalanche mechanic. The avalanche mechanic will remove winning symbols from the reels, leaving empty spaces, at which point new symbols will fall in via a cascade to replace them.
These new symbols can potentially create new winning ways, which means that multiple wins are possible per spin. The name may give it away, but Twin Spin Megaways also has the Twin Reel Feature.
Two or more adjacent reels are randomly selected at the start of each spin to be identical reels. These link together for the duration of the spin, and will drop the same symbols.
This interesting mechanic can guarantee them wins as long as the reels before it displays the same symbols, and they connect all the way to the twin reels.
If avalanches occur, different symbols may then land. The number of twin reels is random and will occur independently each spin.
Bad news, Twin Spin Megaways requires FIVE SCATTER SYMBOLS for a bonus. It almost makes you feel sick, it’s a treat when a Megaways game only needs 3, and annoying when it needs 4, but 5? Ouch.
If/when you do manage to get 5 Scatter Symbols, then you’ll be awarded 15 Free Spins. The game can also re-trigger during the bonus if 5 more scatters land, and will award 15 additional Free Spins.
During Free Spins, there are always 7 symbols on the twin reels. Wild multipliers can also occur during Free Spins. During the base game, Wild symbols are just that, a regular Wild symbol.
During Free Spins however, Wild symbols can have a x2 or x3 Multiplier.
Compared to the old Twin Spin Duluxe, Twin spin Megaways is a treat. The Base game can perform really well with the presence of Twin Reels, Wilds and the Megaways Mechanic, which will keep you going until you hit the much-wanted bonus feature.
The bonus feature however, is a bit of a let down with the fact that you need a whopping 5 symbols to even trigger it. When you do however, it can really get interesting.
Honestly, the Classic gameplay is something that really sits well with a lot of players, and will draw a lot of people in. In a world of innovation and different themes, sometimes people just want and appreciate a good old fashioned fruity.
There’s no reason this game shouldn’t be a big hit with all the potential it has, and no doubt we’ll be hearing of some monumental wins in the future.
Twin Spin Megaways will be available to play at most Online Casinos mid November 2020
Overall, it’s a really good game, it might not have overly original features, as the twin reels isn’t unlike anything we’ve seen before in other games, but it ticks all the boxes with that fun factor and potential.
