Wild Buccaneers Megaways Base Game and Features

Wild Buccaneers Megaways is a 6 reel slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more (or 2 or more of the highest paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Wild Buccaneers Megaways has a theoretical RTP of 95.00% and a maximum win capacity of 50,000x.

Not surprisingly Wild Buccaneers Megaways features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will fall from above. Once a Cascade occurs, there is a chance that more winning combinations will form.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Wild Buccaneers Megaways is the Tiger, followed by the Crocodile, Elephant and Monkey. Treasure Trail 

At the top of each reel sits a Treasure Chest dangling from rope, this is known as the Treasure Trail. 

During each base game spin, the Treasure Chests will randomly be awarded either a Multiplier value, Wild or Free Spins modifier, but the first treasure chest always starts at x1. 

In order to activate the following Treasure Chests, you will need to land consecutive wins during any one spin which allows you to travel along the Treasure Trail, unlocking each Chest as you go along.

• Multipliers – Will be applied to all current wins.
• Wilds – When activated, all high and low-paying symbols underneath it will turn Wild.
• Free Spins – Triggers the Free Spins round.

Super Spinner

Every so often in the base game you will stumble across Coin symbols attached to regular symbols. 

Each time a Coin symbol is collected, the Super Spinner can be triggered. Once active, the Super Spinner can award one of the following Prizes. 

• Cash Prizes – Awards a Cash Prize between 80x and 5,000x your current bet.
• Free Spins – Awards between 8 and 14 Free Spins.
• Fortune Finder – Awards the Fortune Finder round with between 10x and 25x starting values.

Wild Buccaneers Megaways Free Spins

Landing 4 Scatter symbols in any position on the reels triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. Any additional Scatters that may land, award an extra +2 Free Spins.

Alternatively, you can be awarded the Free Spins round by unlocking the Free Spins treasure chest along the Treasure Trail. Before Free Spins can begin, you will be met with the Bonus Booster feature. More on this below.

Bonus Booster

During the Bonus Booster feature, you will be able to Gamble all or some of your current Free Spins for a chance to win +1, +2 or +3 extra spins. Use the Slider to adjust how many Free Spins you wish to Gamble. The more Free Spins you gamble, the higher the chances of winning. 

If your Gamble is successful, you will be awarded the extra Free Spins the Bonus Booster landed on. If you so choose, you can repeat the Gamble to win up to 25 Free Spins or simply walk away with your current Free Spins. During the Free Spins round, all Treasure Trail Multipliers are persistent which starts off at x1. Wild chests will turn all symbols below it Wild and landing on a Free Spins chest awards an additional +2 Free Spins. 

At the end of the Free Spins round, you will again be given a chance to Gamble your total win for another 10 Free Spins through the Bonus Replay feature.

The Bonus Replay wheel consists of Red and Green segments. Landing on a Red segment means the gamble has been lost and so has your total win, but land on a Green segment and the Free Spins round will begin again.

Fortune Finder

At the end of the Free Spins round, if your total win is more than 80x your bet you will be given the opportunity to take part in the Fortune Finder feature.

During the Fortune Finder feature, 16 Treasure Chests will appear with 12 containing treasure and the remaining 4 being cursed. Using the slider, you can choose how much you wish to Gamble and any wins leftover will automatically be collected and added to your current balance.

Choose a treasure chest to determine your fate. If you pick a winning chest you will climb the Prize Ladder.  Treasure prizes start off at 1.3x your total bet and go all the way up to 1,800x. If you stumble across a cursed chest, you will return to the base game empty-handed.

Wild Buccaneers is both interesting and imaginative, but is it overly innovative?

None of the features within Wild Buccaneers is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, yet the Megaways mechanic is diverse, and Four Leaf Gaming has done a stellar job in integrating it together with other features for a highly enjoyable experience. Treasure Trails, Super Spinners, Bonus Booster and Fortune Finder does well to bolster Wild Buccaneers appeal.

With all of this in mind, we’ve not got a lot of bad things to say about Wild Bunccaneers. It may not be completely original, but it’s amusing, dependable and fun.

In terms of potential, the maximum cap here looks staggering at 50,000x. It remains to be seen if it can actually pull it off in the real world, but the potential of Wild Buccaneers is clear, max win or not.

Overall, if you’re looking for a tried and true Megaways Slot with an extra something, then Wild Buccaneers would be a stellar choice.
