Relax Gaming have taken a leaf out of Hacksaw Gaming’s book by designing a slot all about fruit and vegetables, and they’ve even thrown faces on them for good measure.

Hacksaw Gaming definitely hold the title for the best fruit and vegetable slots with titles like King Carrot and Harvest Wilds under their belt, but will Relax Gaming be able to steal the limelight with Wild Yield?

Wild Yield Base Game and Features

Wild Yield is a 5 reel slot with 259 connected ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The minimum bet available to players is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€20 per spin, with a sufficient number of betting options in between the two. Wild Yield has a theoretical RTP of 96.12% and a max win capacity of 50,000x.

Wild Yield features Cascading Reels. Each time a winning combination is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels and new symbols will drop down from above, filling all empty positions.

In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Wild Yield is the Pumpkin, followed by the Tomato, Lettuce and Aubergine. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen and Jack. There is also a Sunflower Wild symbol present which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols in the paytable.

Weather Symbols

During any random spin in both the base game and Free Spins round, a series of Weather symbols known as Tornado, Rain, Lightning, Earthquake, Frost and Fire can randomly land. Please note that the Fire symbol is only available in the Free Spins round and has the ability to award up to 10 Wilds.

Weather symbols have the ability to transform a random selection of symbols into Wilds. Each weather symbol can trigger 1 or 2 Wild Patterns from its group, but on the odd occasion it can deliver a Super Pattern.

If during this time, a Weather symbol transforms a position that is already Wild, the Wild will be given a Counter which will increase by +1 for every time that it happens.

The counter not only indicates how many times the Wild may be won on before it disappears, but it also acts as a Multiplier for any connected wins that pass through it.

Wild Yield Free Spins

Landing/Collecting 3 Flower Scatters across the reels, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 6 Free Spins. Any additional Scatters after the initial 3 required will award an extra +1 Free Spin to your total.

During Free Spins, any positions that are transformed into Wilds will be marked on a Side Board that sits on the left side of the reel set for the duration of Free Spins.

The next Weather symbol that lands will also be marked on the Side Board and transforms all marked positions into Wilds. Positions on the side board that are marked mutliple times will increase the Multiplier on the board.

In addition to this, a special Weather symbol known as Fire can randomly appear across the reels. Unlike all other weather symbols, the Fire symbol does not have its own patterns and will pick a random number of positions to become Wild.

Landing a Flower Scatter during this round will award an additional +1 Free Spin.

Extra Free Spin Feature

At the end of the Free Spins round, an extra spin can be purchased when less than 10 Weather symbols have landed.

Choosing to take the cheerful scarecrow up on his offer will carry over the state of the Side Board from the free spins round over to this spin.

Should any symbols be transformed into Wilds during this spin thanks to a new Weather symbol landing, they will also be added to the Side Board. Once the Extra Free Spin is over, you will be given the option to purchase another until 10 Weather symbols have landed. (RTP 96.50%).

Wild Yield: Our Verdict

Wild Yield is a capable game, and when testing it showed a lot of promise.

But how much would Wild Yield appeal to a UK audience restricted from Bonus Buy options?

When less than 10 weather symbols has landed, the game gives you the option to buy extra Free Spins, but this will fall into bonus buy territory, and thus be banned for UK players. This might make it less viable if you’re in the UK, but Wild Yield can still deliver wherever you may be. You’ll just have to be lucky in the Free Spins round, and if you are then Wild Yield can really show its mettle.

Wild Yield boasts of an absolutely huge win cap at 50,000x, putting it on par with the likes of Money Train 2.

It remains to be seen if Wild Yield could deliver a harvest like this, but we saw it in action ourselves and we can certainly say with confidence that it’s very exciting.
