Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Slot Review 2024

Microgaming partner, All41 Studios has revived an old favourite and upgraded it with a few ‘miner’ differences, in their newest release, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition!

It seems that All41 Studios has a habit of trying new things in their slots. Granted it’s not the first time we’ve come across the Link & Win feature, but All41 Studios clearly isn’t one to shy away from a challenge, looking for clever ways to spice up their slots. HyperHold, Epic Strike and Hyper Clusters are just some of the impressive features All41 Studios has tried and tested in their slots, so will the Link & Win feature seen here be just as good?

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is not exactly a new slot, with the original Gold Collector released in 2021. Other than it’s fancy new title, what can we expect this time around? Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is bigger and better than the original in more ways than one, with a solid maximum win capacity, additional Diamond symbols in both the Link & Win and Free Spins rounds and impressive Jackpot Prizes.

In terms of theme, both the original and this version are pretty much identical, with the same symbols, colours and design throughout. Seeing as All41 Studios gave gameplay an extreme makeover, you would think they would dress up the theme a little more, but sadly that’s not the case. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover though, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition may look dull but it has some gorgeous potential and heaps of fun gameplay to offer you.

Will Gold Collector: Diamond Edition lead us to glorious big wins? Let’s play on and find out!

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Base Game and Features

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is a 5 reel slot with 50 fixed paylines. In order to form a win, you will need to connect 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.

The base game in Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is very similar to the original when it comes to features, only this time All41 Studios has opted for the Link & Win feature that is pretty much identical to the HyperHold feature, just with a few adjustments. More on this below.

During any random spin in the base game, landing 3 or more Diamond or Coin symbols will trigger the Link & Win feature. Each reel has its own unique Respins Counter and all reels are awarded with 3 Respins each.

Once the Link & Win feature is active, all high and low-paying symbols are removed including Wilds, leaving only Coin and Diamond symbols in play.

During Respins, if either a Coin symbol lands in view, it will become Sticky and will remain in its fixed position for the remainder of Respins, resetting the Spins Counter for that particular reel back to 3. If a Diamond symbols lands on any of the reels, it will also become Sticky and remain in its fixed position, resetting all Spin Counters for all 5 reels, regardless of where the Diamond symbol landed.

Each Coin and Diamond symbol comes equipped with their own Multiplier Prize, which is awarded at the end of the Link & Win feature. In additon to this, each of the 5 reels has its own Jackpot Prize above it. In order to bag yourselves one of the Jackpot Prizes, you will need to fill the entire reel with either Coin or Diamond symbols.

  • Reel 1 Mini Jackpot – Awards 10x your current bet.
  • Reel 2 Minor Jackpot – Awards 20x your current bet.
  • Reel 3 Maxi Jackpot – Awards 50x your current bet.
  • Reel 4 Major Jackpot – Awards 100x your current bet.
  • Reel 5 Grand Jackpot – Awards 1,000x your current bet.

Landing Diamond symbols on every reel awards a special Diamond Jackpot, which awards 5,000x your current bet!

Gold Collector Diamond Edition Link & Win Feature

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4, triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. Each Diamond symbol that appears, awards an additional +1 Free Spin.

Once the Free Spins round is triggered, Special symbols will come into play and each of the symbol positions on the reels will have a Rock attached to them.

  • Dynamite – When a Dynamite symbol lands on a Rock, it will explode to reveal either a Diamond or Coin symbol.
  • TNT Plunger – If a Dynamite symbol lands on a position without a Rock, it will explode with the possibility of revealing a TNT Plunger symbol. Once a TNT Plunger symbol appears, it will explode between 2 and 5 random Rock positions, revealing either Diamonds or Cash prizes.

When all Rock positions are destroyed on a reel, the corresponding Jackpot Prize for that particular reel is awarded. If each reel receives a Diamond symbol, the Diamond Jackpot is automatically awarded.

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition: Our Verdict

There are certainly a few positives to Gold Collector: Diamond Edition that the original was definitely lacking, and we don’t mean the extension on the title. All41 Stuidos are always looking at ways to make their titles bigger and better and we’re confident that they have succeeded here.

All41 Studios has made Gold Collector: Diamond Edition loads better than the original, but they didn’t think to change anything in the theme. We’re not trying to be picky, but wouldn’t it make sense to give the design a little once over if you want it to stand out from the first. That being said, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition soon diverts your attention elsewhere, so it’s not that much of a big deal.

The Link & Win feature is not exactly a new feature, but All41 Studios has put their own stamp on it, adding special symbols with explosive Modifiiers. If you’re a fan of the original, you will notice that the Link & WIn feature seen here is very similar to the HyperHold feature in the first. Although these features aren’t that different, the Link & Win feature is definitely an improvement in many ways.

Gold Collector: Diamond Edition is also a step up from the original in terms of statistics. The RTP sits nicely at 96.40% and the maximum win capacity is slightly worse off at 6,355x, but this is actually loads better than the poor 1,200x on offer in Gold Collector.

All in all, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition won’t be topping titles such as Fire in the Hole xBomb or Gold Digger Megaways any time soon, but it wil bring you endless amounts of fun and a small amount of potential.
