5 Monsters Base Game and Features
5 Monsters is a 5×5 Video Slot with a Scatter Pays mechanic. Winning combinations are formed when 7 or more of the same symbols land anywhere across the grid, regardless of their position.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€80 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.38% and a max win cap of 55,555x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is Green Egg, followed by the Red, Blue, Purple, and Yellow Eggs. Low-paying symbols fall to Circles, Squares, and Triangles.

MaxSymbols
Above the grid sits a special MaxSymbols panel and a Progress bar. Whenever a winning combination of a High-paying symbol hits, it will activate the corresponding symbol in the MaxSymbols panel.
All activated MaxSymbols will be collected and stored in the Progress Bar to the left of the panel. Filling the Progress bar will unlock a new Monster, triggering the Collector Bonus. Please note, the Progress bar will keep its progress for the current bet.
There are a total of 6 Levels available for this game, as follows.
- Level 0 – Ends when the first Monster is unlocked.
- Level 1 – Ends when the second Monster is unlocked.
- Level 2 – Ends when the third Monster is unlocked.
- Level 3 – Ends when the fourth Monster is unlocked.
- Level 4 – Ends when the fifth Monster is unlocked.
- Level 5 – Begins when all Monsters are unclocked. Level 5 is the final level and once active, you will remain at this level.
During an active MaxSymbol in the base game, the Random Symbol feature may also trigger.
Collector Bonus
The Collector Bonus is triggered when the Progress bar is completed. Once active, you will be awarded 3 Respins that reset back to 3 during each symbol hit.
During the Collector Bonus, special Multiplier and Activator symbols are in play that award the following.
- Multiplier Symbols – Multiplier symbols in the form of Blue Orbs will reveal a random Multiplier value between x2 and x5 your current bet.
- Activator Symbols – Triggers the Modifier of the corresponding Monster as seen in the Random Symbol feature.
Each Monster (Activator symbol) has a special ability available that can trigger at random during this time, as long as they are active at the time of triggering the Collector Bonus.
- The Framer (Yellow Monster) – Places random frames with Multipliers across the grid in random positions.
- The Payer (Purple Monster) – Takes one of the Multipliers from the grid and adds it to all other Multiplier values present.
- The Booster (Blue Monster) – Increases the value of one active Multiplier symbol.
- The Collector (Red Monster) – Collects all Multipliers from the grid and adds them to its activator tile.
- The Mentalist (Green Monster) – Multiplies the highest and lowest Multiplier values together.

5 Monsters: Our Verdict
5 Monsters turned out to be a fairly diverse game with plenty of exciting moments, but you might have to bare with it because some momentum is required to get things going, or rather some patience while you fill up the progress bar.
Each of the monster features has been carefully thought out by MaxWin Gaming, and at it’s best it can certainly deliver. More than one monster is generally required to make 5 Monsters the best it can be. After all, it’s not called ‘1 Monster’, so it can be fairly underwhelming if the full crew isn’t around for the party.
When testing it ourselves, we did notice a few long periods where the game didn’t show us much, but every so often the Random Symbol modifier comes along to speed up gameplay and progress on the bar. It’s not bad if you can turbo spin, but of course this isn’t an option anymore in the UK.
We can see the appeal, but we wonder if it has the haste required to stop players from tuning out before seeing anything significant.
The potential would suggest that it’s worth sticking around with 55,555x as a maximum win. It’s surprisingly astronomical, and in that regard alone it’s very worth checking out 5 Monsters at its best when you unlock all of the monsters.
Overall, 5 Monsters is a slot that only gets better the more you play, but multiple visits might be required unless you’re up for a lengthy session…unless you can just buy the top level, of course.
