Diamond Mine 2 Megaways Slot Review
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways from Blueprint Gaming takes us back to where we’ve all longed to be…in the desert with a senile and eccentric prospector and some dynamite.
Diamond Mine Megaways was just one of those slots that stood out. Diamond Mine, The Return of Kong, Temple of Treasure, Wolf Legend and others from Blueprint Gaming just felt like the absolute golden era of Megaways. Did any of them do anything particularly groundbreaking? With the exception of a couple of tweaks, none of them reinvented the wheel, but their subtle differences were more than enough to make them widely popular.
Even years after their release, we look upon these games with such prestige. Nostalgia is a powerful emotion, so the appeal may be even greater now than it was then.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways may be new, but it takes us on a nostalgia trip nonetheless. The graphics are very crisp compared to the original, but apart from that you’d need to squint your eyes to see the difference. Is Diamond Mine 2 a reskin made to reignite our love for the original game? or something else entirely?
Let’s find out together in this Diamond Mine 2 Megaways Slot Review!
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways Base Game and Features
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways is a 6-reel slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols (or 2 or more of the highest-paying symbol) land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€10 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 95.00% and a max win cap of 10,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Diamond, followed by the Prospector, Lantern, and Digging Tools. Low-paying symbols are standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, and Nine. Wilds appear on the Sliding Reel only, substituting for all symbols except Scatters.
Each time a winning combination forms, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels, and new symbols will drop down from above via a Cascade, with the possibility of forming even more winning combinations.
In addition to this, there is also an additional Sliding Reel above the main reel set. If a winning combination is formed using symbols from this reel, they too will be removed and all remaining symbols will slide over toward the leftmost position.
Ante Bet
Before you can begin spinning, you will be given the option to activate the Ante Bet feature. Choosing to activate this feature increases your current bet by 20%.
Once active, you will have an increased chance of triggering the Free Spins round. (RTP 95.00%)
Mystery Symbols
During any random spin in both the base game and Free Spins round, Mystery symbols in the form of T.N.T Barrels can land randomly across the reels.
Once in view, they will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol from the paytable (excluding Scatters), either creating or improving a winning combination.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways Free Spins
Landing 3 or more Gold Scatters across the reels during the base game triggers the Free Spins round. Once triggered, you will be given the choice between Regular Free Spins or Gold Spins.

If you choose not to gamble further or at all, you can click the Collect button at any point and the Free Spins round will begin with your current number of Free Spins. Please note, the Gold Spins round cannot be gambled.
Regular Free Spins
During regular Free Spins, an Unlimited Multiplier starting at x1 is active. Each time a win is formed and a Cascade occurs, the Multiplier will increase by +x1.
In addition to this, reel positions atop the Sliding Reel can reveal Scatters that award additional Free Spins. Landing 3 or 4 Scatters during this time will award an additional +5 and +10 Free Spins respectively.
Gold Spins

The Win Multiplier will begin at x1 and is increased by +x1 for each winning Cascade. This round will continue until the Win Multiplier reaches the Golden Guarantee that is displayed below the Win Multiplier.
In addition to this, reel positions atop the Sliding Reel can reveal a special symbol that increases the Golden Guarantee by +x1 per symbol.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways: Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Blueprint Gaming has granted players access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 100x your current bet. (RTP 95.00%)
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways: Our Verdict
Our opinion of Diamond Mine is so clouded by fond nostalgia that it’s almost unfair to give it a verdict, but we don’t care. The prospector from Diamond Mine could jump us with his pickaxe and mug us for all of our gold nuggets and we’d still speak highly of the game.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways is great if you love the original, and great if you have an appetite for something newer, though perhaps not amazing for those looking for drastic differences. Diamond Mine 2 Megaways is almost identical, with the exception of the Gold Spins feature. The Gold Spins feature is an interesting spin on the incremental multiplier that goes hand-in-hand with Megaways slots. In this version of the bonus, it keeps going until the Win Multiplier reaches the golden guarantee. This could have you retching on the ground if the multiplier stays low, but if you’re lucky it can perform quite well. Simply hope for more special symbols to increase the Golden Guarantee, at which point the excitement really ramps up.
Overall, Diamond Mine 2 Megaways isn’t too far removed from the original. Megaways slots have evolved quite a lot since the days of Diamond Mine, but we still love the classic Megaways action, no matter how many innovations reinvent it.
