Viking Runecraft 100 Slot Review
Join forces with Thor, Heimdall, and Freya to protect Agard from evil in Play’n GO’s latest release, Viking Runecraft 100!
Evil forces have caught wind of the Ruby-red Rune Stone, and it’s up to Thor, Heimdall, and Freya to find it first and protect Agard from impending doom. With Ragnorak looming on the horizon, Thor and his warriors must tap into their powers and rise above the chaos to defend their territory.
Viking Runecraft is the latest slot to feature in Play’n GO’s ‘100’ series, after Sweet Alchemy and Moon Princess. With both of these being a huge success, we have no doubts that Viking Runecraft 100 will quickly follow suit!
Viking Runecraft 100 Base Game and Features
Viking Runecraft 100 is a 5×5 Video Slot featuring a Cluster Pays mechanic. Wins are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land Horizontally or Vertically across the grid.
Viking Runecraft can be played for as little as £.€0.20 per spin, up to a maximum bet of £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.20% and a max win cap of 15,000x.
The highest-paying regular symbol here is Thor, followed by Freya, Heimdall, or any combination of the 3. Low-paying symbols fall to the Hammer, Helmet, Anchor, and Blade.
Wilds substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols from the paytable. When a win forms, 1 Wild symbol will fill a position, remaining in view for so many cascades, and is then removed. Winning combinations are removed from the grid.
God power
During any non-winning spin, 1 of 3 God Powers can be activated, depending on which Character is standing next to the grid.
- Thor’s Thunder – Cobverts one set of symbols.
- Freya’s Magic – Awards 1-2 Wild symbols.
- Heimdall’s Vision – Removes 2 sets of symbol types.
Ragnorak Feature
The Ragnorak Feature is triggered when the Meter on the left of the grid is filled with High-paying symbols and Wilds.
The Meter has 3 separate levels that need to be filled with combinations of x3, x4, and x5 High-paying and/or Wild symbols. During the Ragnorak Feature, 1 Free Spin is awarded and the Multiplier is reset.
A God Power will be performed on each symbol drop that does not form a winning combination until all 3 God Powers have performed their power. If the grid is cleared entirely, the Free Spins round is awarded.
Viking Runecraft 100: Free Spins
Clearing the entire grid during the Ragnorak Feature triggers the Free Spins round. Once active, you will be met with the following options.
- Thor – Awards 4 Free Spins and the Thunder Power.
- Freya – Awards 5 Free Spins and the Magic Power.
- Heimdall – Awards 8 Free Spins and the Vision Power.
At the start of Free Spins, the Global Win Multiplier is reset to x1. During Free Spins, the chosen God Power triggers on every non-winning spin. The global win Multiplier does not reset between spins during this time.
An additional +4, +3, and +2 Free Spins are awarded for Thor, Freya, and Heimdall respectively when the Meter is fully charged during this time.
Clearing the grid entirely of symbols (excluding the Ragnorak Feature) will award an Instant Prize of 50x your bet which is multiplied by the current Multiplier value.
Viking Runecraft 100: Our Verdict
We’re back in familiar territory for a 3rd time in Viking Runecraft 100, the latest Play’n GO slot to obtain the ‘100’ title, but is 3 already too many?
Moon Princess was the first Play’n GO slot to be crowned with the ‘100’ title, which left little clues in its name as to what the 100 could mean. With or without the 100 part, we were just happy to see our favourite Princesses back for another epic adventure…and what an adventure it was!
Since then, Play’n GO has vamped up Sweet Alchemy and now it’s time for the Gods to get in on the action, but where will Play’n GO take the ‘100’ series next we wonder? Maybe Reactoonz?
To put it bluntly, if you’re a fan of the existing 100 titles, then Viking Runecraft 100 is the perfect slot for you. This game does exactly what the other 2 100 titles do but with a new set of Characters to contend with. Play’n GO has even opted for the 15,000x max win seen in the previous 100 titles, so all it comes down to is which Characters you wish to play with.
