Shadow Summoner Elementals Slot Review 2024
Shadow Summoner Elementals from Fantasma Games takes us to a mystical world, but is the magic here light, or dark?
Fantasma Games really do stand out when it comes to their game aesthetics, and they rarely go with something that we’d consider to be generic. Reflecting on their portfolio, it seems that they have quite the affinity for games of the mystic variety. Magikspell, Elemento, Wicket Kitty and Mystic Spells are notable examples.
Will Shadow Summoner Elementals be as spellbinding as it looks? Let’s find out.
Shadow Summoner Elementals Gameplay & Design
Shadow Summoner Elementals takes us into the dark and mysterious world of Demons and Witchcraft. The backdrop, although sight-limiting, reveals an old-fashioned library, dimly lit by candlelight.
To the right of the reel set is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed sorceress paying very close attention to her book, with the odd glance up at us from time to time. This game is much darker in theme when compared to Fantasma Games’ usual style.
Shadow Summoner Elementals is a 6×5 Video Slot, playable from £.€0.10 per spin, up to a maximum bet of £.€120 per spin. In between the two bets are many alternative betting options, suitable for a range of players.
Shadow Summoner Elementals – Slot Symbols and Their Values
Shadow Summoner Elementals has 4 High and Low-paying symbol types available, with the highest-paying symbol producing wins of up to 25x your bet for 12+ winning symbols.
Low-paying symbols fall to Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades. While Diamonds award up to 3x your bet, Hearts can produce wins of up to 6x your bet for 12+ winning symbols. Wild symbols are also present, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbols.
Shadow Summoner Elementals – Paylines and How to Get Them
Wins are created when 8 or more identical symbols land anywhere across the reels via a Scatter Pays mechanic. When a winning combination forms, all winning symbols are removed from the grid and new symbols will appear from above the main reel set, potentially enhancing or creating a winning combination.
Shadow Summoner Elementals RTP & Volatility – Hot or Not?
Shadow Summoner Elementals has a theoretical RTP of 96.31%. This figure is consistent with many slot titles and considered above average on the RTP scale, in a market that is continuously looking for ways to introduce lower RTP levels.
In terms of Volatility, Shadow Summoner Elementals is rated as Highly Volatile. This level of volatility means that more frequent wins may occur over a longer time frame, yet the risk is greater short term. In addition, this game is fitted with a max win cap of 5,610x.
Shadow Summoner Elementals Special features
In this section of the review, we will be working our way through the multiple special features available, including the Bonus Buy and Scatter Boost Bet features.
Elementals Meter
The elementals meter begins at Level 0 with 4 unlockable features available during gameplay. Each symbol in a winning combination adds 1 notch to the Elementals Meter (including Wilds) when they are removed. When the elemental meter reaches 200, it will level up and introduce a new elemental feature and its corresponding ability.
- Reaching level 1 unlocks the Tome of Ice symbol with the Spread feature. The Tome of Ice feature spreads, transforming up to 4 symbols surrounding it into Wilds.
- Reaching level 2 unlocks the Tome of Corruption symbol with the Explosion feature. The Tome of Corruption feature explodes, removing symbols in a 3×3 area that surrounds it.
- Reaching level 3 unlocks the Tome of Thunder symbol with the Respin feature. The Tome of Thunder feature removes up to 12 random symbols and spawns a Multiplier equal to the number of removed symbols.
- Reaching level 4 unlocks the Tome of Flame symbol with the Upgrade feature. The Tome of Flame feature selects 1-4 Low-paying symbols and upgrades them to their corresponding High-paying symbol.
Each unlocked elemental feature can be randomly awarded during any spin. After triggering the Free Spins round, the Elemental Meter and its progress will reset back to 0.
Multipliers
Multiplier symbols with values between x2 and x100 can appear in the middle 4 rows during the base and Free Spins round. At the end of a winning sequence, the total value of all Multiplier values is added together and applied.
Scatter Boost Bet Mode
The Scatter Boost Bet is only available when the Elementals Meter progresses to level 4 in the base game. Once this becomes available, it can be activated before or after any game round for an additional 1.5x your current bet. Activating this feature will increase your chances of triggering Free Spins by a factor of 3.01.
Bonus Buy
Those within Bonus Buy territory will have access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 100x your bet. (RTP 96.64%) Online Slots UK are devoid of such options, however, the Free Spins round is still available to players through regular gameplay.
Shadow Summoner Elementals Bonus Rounds & Free Spins
Shadow Summoner Elementals has one Free Spins round available, triggered when 4 Scatters land in the base game at level 4 on the Elementals Meter. The Free Spins round awards 4 Free Spins and starts on Level 0 of the Elementals Meter.
During this round, the 4 Tome Features are discharged in a random order, with the feature spin guaranteed to activate the latest Elemental symbol. The Elementals Meter continues to be filled with winning symbols as they disappear. When the Elementals Meter reaches a certain threshold, an additional +4 Free Spins are awarded.
Whenever a Multiplier hits and the spin results in a win, the Multiplier is added to the Total Win Multiplier. For the entirety of the round, whenever a new Multiplier hits and results in a win, the total win multiplier will also be used to multiply the win.

Conclusion
Shadow Summoner is of exceptional quality, as is expected from Fantasma Games, but it’s hard to see where the huge wins are. Firstly, it kind of forces you to pay it over a longer period before showing you its full capabilities with Tomes that unlock as you progress through the levels, and the triple chance ante bet is even locked away until you get to the highest level. We can’t think of any good reason why this kind of grind is better for the player. Other slots also have ‘grindy’ aspects to them of course, but progressing to the top usually results in better rewards during Free Spins. After Free Spins the elemental features are even reset. We’re of the opinion that all 4 should have been available from the get-go. The grind here isn’t especially long, we can see it being an annoyance to some.
In Free Spins, all of the features are active and will trigger after the other, but it’s kind of hard to see where the huge hits come from. It has a multiplier feature similar to that seen in other scatter pays slots like Gates of Olympus, but none of the features feel capable enough on their own to result in any hugely substantial win. Without the total multiplier it would have been quite an underwhelming experience.
The statistics would suggest that Shadow Summoners Elementals is fairly capable with a 5,160x win cap, but we’re not sure if that’s realistic or theoretical.
Overall, Shadow Summoners looks and feels like a top-quality game, but it’s let down a little by gameplay and features.
