Jaguar Drop could be a special release from Push, especially for UK Players feeling that FOMO about the lack of buy options. Push Gaming’s rationale for Jaguar Drop was to create a feature-rich game for the UK market. These features supposedly trigger quite often and serve as an alternative for Hold and Win Games.
Truthfully, we’ve never been that big on Hold & Win games, but we are big fans of Push Gaming, so perhaps we can give them the benefit of the doubt and brave the jungle. It feels like Push Gaming have been a little quiet lately, and this particular release is their penultimate release of 2024 with only 10 Flaming Bisons yet to come.
Let’s see if it can satiate the hunger for Push Gaming magic, and if it really will strike a note with UK players.
Base Game & Features
Jaguar Drop is a 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot facilitating a Scatter Pays mechanic and bet sizes between £.€0.10 per spin and £.€100 per spin.
Out of all 10 High and Low-paying symbols, the Jaguar symbol is the highest-paying, producing wins between 2.5x and 500x your bet. Wins are calculated when 6-15+ matching symbols appear anywhere on the grid, regardless of position. Wilds appear in the base game, substituting for all symbols except Coins.
Winning symbols are subject to removal via a Cascade feature. Removed symbols are replaced with new symbols from above the reels, potentially creating additional wins.
Jaguar Drop is a medium volatility slot with an overall RTP of 96.31% and an impressive max win cap of 10,000x your bet. There is also an Autoplay and Turbo mode option for non-UK players.
Coin Symbols
Coin symbols act as Scatters throughout gameplay. Landing 6 or more Coins in a single spin triggers the Free Drops round. Coins appear with a value between 1x and 1,000x your bet.
Second Chance Feature
When 4 or 5 Coin symbols land in the base game, the Second Chance feature triggers. Once active, all symbols except Coins are removed from the grid, triggering the Cascade feature.
Push Bet
Players can activate the Push Bet feature for an additional 20% of their current bet. This increases the chance of triggering the Free Drops round by 55%.
Free Drops
As mentioned above, landing 6 or more Coin Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Drops round. Players will begin the round with 6 Free Drops.
During this round, only Coin, Boost, Heart, and Collector symbols are in play. The round begins with all triggering Coin symbols at the bottom of the reels.
- Boost: This symbol applies a x2, x3, or x5 Multiplier to all adjacent Coin symbols
- Heart: This symbol awards an extra life, which retriggers the feature when the Free Drops meter reaches 0. After this, the heart symbol will transform into a Coin symbol
- Collector: This symbol can only land when a row is filled. When in view, it becomes the total value of all Coin symbols that form part of a complete row
Each Free Drop will award a random Coin, Boost, Heart, or Collector symbol onto the reels. When a row is filled with symbols, the Free Drop Meter resets.
Filling 4 rows with symbols activates a x2 Multiplier which increases as more rows are filled to completion, up to a maximum of x20. When the Free Drops meter reaches 0, the total value of all Coin symbols is awarded, along with the highest Multiplier.
Our Verdict
We’ll preface by saying that Jaguar Drop isn’t quite Push Gaming’s finest work. It’s no Big Bamboo, Razor Returns or Jammin Jars. If Jaguar Drop were a celebrity it would be a C-lister at best, but that’s not to say it won’t garner fans.
The UK is a huge market, yet regulatory restrictions inhibit the games that function within it. To have a game primarily catered for UK players must be appreciated in itself and was certainly fondly received by us. Through testing it ourselves we found it to be quite capable, although fairly slow at points. The bonus round requires symbols to stack as high as possible if they’re to benefit from the multipliers that adorn higher reels, and the modifiers certainly help in increasing that potential. There’s not much of note happening in the Base Game, so players interested in its Aztec allure will have to work at it to see it in all its majesty during Free Drops.
Overall, Jaguar Drop is commendable, but it may border as forgettable to players used to Push Gaming’s more diverse offerings.
