This game has 10 High and Low-paying symbols, with the highest-paying producing wins of 10x your bet for 5-of-a-kind. Wins are calculated when 3-5 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. Please note, that wins are not subject to Cascading Reels.
Other statistics worth noting are the theoretical RTP of 96.31% and the max win cap of 15,000x your bet. Lower RTP modules are also in effect, these are 94.24%, 92.25%, and 88.23%.
Ymir’s Conquest
The blue Ymir symbol is a special Wild Multiplier that substitutes for all symbols except Scatters. When a Ymir symbol is used as part of a winning combination, its value is applied to the win.
If more than one Ymir symbol is part of the same winning combination, their values are added together and applied. Once in view, Ymir symbols will remain in position with a Multiplier between x1 and x100.
After all winning combinations are paid out, a Respin is awarded. Landing a new Ymir symbol at this time will award an additional Respin. This continues until no new Ymir symbols hit.
Landing 4 Ymir symbols in the same spin will cause them to merge into a Giant Ymir symbol. The multiplier values of all Ymir symbols will combine as one, applying to any winning combinations that pass through it.
MegaMultiplier
Landing a MegaMultiplier and Ymir symbol in a single spin causes the Multiplier of all Ymir symbols to add to the Global MegaMultiplier, which is then applied to all wins while it is active.
At the point of activation, a Respin is granted. If any additional Ymir symbols land during this time, their multiplier values will be added to the MegaMultiplier. At the start of the next spin, the MegaMultiplier is removed.

Fall of Ymir
Landing 5 FS Scatters in the base game triggers Fall of Ymir, awarding 3 refilling Lives. This round is limited to the following symbols; Non-paying, Dead symbols, volcanic Ymir, MegaMultiplier, and Asgardian Orb symbols.
Each spin in this round consumes 1 Life. Whenever new symbols (other than dead symbols) land in view, the Lives refill to 3. After all 3 Lives are complete, the round ends.
The Volcanic Ymir symbol is a special Multiplier that can be collected and increased in a number of ways. When in view, the Volcanic Ymir symbol will remain in position and generate a Multiplier value between x1 and x100.
if a MegaMultiplier symbol hits, all Volcanic Ymir Multipliers are added together and applied to the global MegaMultiplier, while Volcanic Ymir symbols retain their values.
When an Asgardian Orb appears, the collected global MegaMultiplier is consumed and added to some or all Volcanic Ymir symbols. Asgardian Orbs appear in 2 different colours:
- Green Asgardian Orb: Adds the value to all Volcanic Ymir symbols on the reel it appeared. If there aren’t any on that reel, nothing occurs.
- Golden Asgardian Orb: Adds the value to ALL Volcanic Ymir symbols on the entire reel set.
When the global MegaMultiplier is consumed this way, its value is reset to 0 and removed, however, landing a new MegaMultiplier symbol will build it back up again.
At the end of the round, the value of all Volcanic Ymir symbols are added together and multiplied by your current bet to determine the total combined win.
Rise of Ymir – Fall of Ymir Bonus
Our Verdict
Rise of Ymir stands out as yet another to portray a popular slot theme in a very prominent way. There are no shortages of Norse slots, yet Rise of Ymir can grab your attention where others fail to do so. Ymir the Jötunn giant doesn’t often take the stage with developers focusing primarily on the more popular Odin, Thor or Loki, but perhaps he should. His imposing dominance is undeniable, as is Hacksaw’s irrefutable creativity.
Rise of Ymir focuses on multipliers as Hacksaw games usually do, and this time a MegaMultiplier, which applies to all wins by active. This feature keeps the game very interesting, and it feels as if it adds some much-needed anticipation to the Base Game.
Free Spins is just as nail-biting, with three different modes to experience. The ‘lesser’ of the three rounds is the Rise of Dawn of Gods bonus, though it’s still exciting with a closer look at some of the features seen in the Base Game and they should be seen more frequently. Fury of Ymir is similar but the MegaMultiplier remains active, which significantly boosts the potential. The Fall of Ymir is the main draw here. It’s a shame to see the big guy fall as quickly as he rose, but you quickly get over it once you see its potential.
This mode really makes Rise of Ymir stand out with its Volcanic Ymir symbols, plus the Megamultipliers and Asgardian Orbs. Sadly, it’s a feature that you’ll rarely see, especially if you’re at casino sites in the UK and can’t buy it.
All in all, it’s a solid instalment from Hacksaw once more. They rarely miss.
