Base Game & Features
Set across 5 reels and 5 rows, Medusa’s Madness is a Cluster Pays Video Slot with varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€100 per spin.
Wins are evaluated when 4 or more matching symbols land Horizontally or Vertically-adjacent on the grid. Each of the 8 High and Low-paying symbols produces wins between 0.1x and 100x your bet. Wins are subject to removal via an Avalanche Feature, causing new symbols to drop in from above.
In other areas, Medusa’s Madness is a Medium Volatility slot with an overall RTP of 96.59% and a standard max win cap of 2,000x your bet.
Eye Marks
In the base game, certain positions are marked by an Eye. Activating an Eye Mark by creating a win within its position will allocate 2 Special Wilds to the grid.
During Free Spins, unlocking an Eye Mark will automatically summon the Mega Wild. Marked eye positions can be found through a mini-grid to the left of the main grid set.
Stone Gateway
Each winning cluster will charge the Stone Gateway. Each notch achieved on the Stone Gateway will award 2 Special Wilds to random grid positions – these include:
- Petrify: Removes an entire row or column
- Gaze: Removes all instances of a random High or Low-paying symbol
- Multiplier Wild: Doubles all wins
- Mega Wild: Moves down the grid to create multiple winning scenarios
Please note, that each Special Wild substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols on the grid.
Other World Free Spins
Charging the Stone Gateway with a maximum of 42 winning symbols will automatically award the Other World Free Spins round. For every 3 winning symbols extra, an additional Stone Gateway Effect is awarded, up to a maximum of 7.
During this round, 1 random Gateway Effect is triggered. This occurs when no more wins are achieved and all have been used. The Free Spins round ends when all Stone Gateway Effects have played out.

Our Verdict
Medusa’s Madness, if you haven’t managed to put two-and-two together, is a continuation of Play’n GO’s ‘Tome’ series, which sees the return of Rich Wilde looking particularly chiselled and aged to perfection.
Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness is the first of the series, quickly followed by Tome of Insanity and an individual Alice Cooper spin-off. What’s interesting, however, is that Play’n GO has kept the bulk of gameplay identical, only making minor adjustments to the theme. If you’re familiar with the series, you will tell instantly that Medusa’s Madness is part of it.
What is certainly disappointing is the statistics we face in Medusa’s Madness. The medium volatility and overall RTP tick all the right boxes, but the max win cap of 2,000x your bet feels like a slap in the face if we’re honest. When a provider chooses to release a new instalment of a series, higher statistics usually go hand-in-hand.
To put it bluntly, when choosing which of the series to play, all you need to decide is if you want newer graphics, a change of scenery, and Rich Wilde fully or partially clothed.
