Ragnarok 40K Slot Review
Ascend to new heights in Slotmill’s latest adventure, Ragnarok 40K! Following on from the original Ragnarok slot, the legendary cluster pays slot returns, now mightier than ever, with a colossal 40,000x max win up for grabs.
Norse Mythology has a strong impact on the world of slots, particularly the Viking saga of legendary quests and mighty Gods. Ragnarok is a key event in Norse mythology, often described as the prophesied end of the world. It’s a climactic battle involving gods like Odin, Thor, and Loki, where the old world is destroyed and reborn. Themes of chaos, destruction, and renewal are central, making it a popular backdrop for stories, games, and slots alike.
The theme naturally lends itself to high-stakes gameplay, something that Slotmill is becoming renowned for.

Base Game & Features
Ragnarok 40K is a highly volatile release from Slotmill, utilising 5 reels, 5 rows, and the Cluster Pays mechanic. Players can choose from a variety of bet sizes between £.€0.20 and £.€60 per spin. Other attributes include an overall RTP of 96.07% and an impressive 40,000x max win cap.
Wins occur when 5-12 identical symbols land horizontally or vertically adjacent on the grid. The four high-paying symbols represent Vikings, while the 3 low-paying symbols fall to rune tiles. Depending on the winning symbol, payouts between 0.15x and 12.5x your bet are applied. Winning clusters are taken from the grid and replaced with new symbols via an Avalanche Feature. This enables additional wins to be generated within a single spin.
Wild Symbols
After each winning cluster is removed from the grid, a Wild symbol is generated in one of the empty positions before the Avalanche event occurs. Wild symbols substitute for all symbols from the paytable except Scatters.
Progressive Win Multiplier
To the left of the main grid is a special Progressive Win Multiplier, starting at x1. Each avalanche win will cause the Win Multiplier to double, applying to all cluster wins during that spin. At the end of a game round, the win multiplier will reset.
Loki’s Trick
Loki’s Trick is a special feature which can randomly trigger at the start of each spin. Once active, the Win Multiplier will increase by a random number of steps.
Giant Symbols
Another important feature to look out for is Giant Symbols. This feature can randomly trigger at the start or end of each game round. Once active, individual 2×2 or 3×3 Giant symbols can randomly appear on the grid, counting as 4 and 9 symbol instances, respectively.

Burst Mode
Burst Mode is a faster and more advanced AutoPlay function exclusive to Slotmill games. This mode uses the same game engine and logic, but at a much higher pace, revealing only the total win per game round.

Ragnarok 40K Slot Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 8, 10, and 12 Free Spins, respectively.
In this round, the Win Multiplier does not reset until the end of the feature. The Win Multiplier begins at x1 and increases with each Avalanche event. Please note that Scatter symbols are not available during this time.
Super Mode
Super Mode is activated at random at the start of the Free Spins mode. Once active, the Giant Symbol Feature is guaranteed to trigger on every spin.

Our Honest Verdict
Ragnarok 40K builds well on its predecessor, offering players a polished cluster pays experience with solid win potential and engaging features. The progressive multiplier, Giant Symbols, and random modifiers like Loki’s Trick provide good variety, while Burst Mode caters to players who enjoy faster spins. This particular feature isn’t available in every market, and to be honest, we’re not sure yet if it’s a feature that you’d miss. It’s sort of like Nolimit City’s action spins, but you don’t see the result unless you want to.
What seems to be a standout feature of Ragnarok 40k is its win potential. You may have guessed by the name already, but the max win here is 40,000x the bet. It’s a huge figure even by Slotmill’s standards, and the gameplay and its features make it easy to see how it could be achieved.
We’re getting some Yggdrasil vibes from this one, with huge symbols akin to Gigablox, and doubling multipliers that function like the DoubleMax mechanic. Not entirely original, but not bad features to include at all. It’s teeming with excitement at every turn, and its dark and apocalyptic aesthetic really sells it.
Overall, Ragnarok 40K is another job well done from Slotmill. They’re one of the few that are consistently impressive.
