Base Game & Features
Harpoon Heist is a standard 5-reel, 3-row Video Slot with 10 fixed pay lines and varying bet sizes between £.€0.10 and £.€20 per spin. This game is classified as a Mid-Low volatility slot, offering an overall RTP of 96% and a max win cap of 2,425x your bet.
Wins occur when 2-5 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from reel 1. There are 4 High and 5 Low-paying symbols available, each applying payouts between 0.5x and 100x your bet across active win lines. Wild symbols appear on all reels, substituting for all symbols except Scatter and Treasure symbols.
Harpoon Awards
During any spin in the base game, the Harpoon Gun above the reels can fire onto the reels, collecting up to 7 Instant Cash Prizes in view. Treasure symbols appear on all reels, appearing as a Bronze Bag, Silver Pot, or Gold Chest:
- Bronze Bag: Reveal prizes of 2x, 3x, and 5x your bet
- Silver Pot: Reveal prizes of 10x, 15x, and 20x your bet

Harpoon Heist Slot Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 6, 8, and 10 Free Spins, respectively.
In this round, regular Wild symbols transform into Walking Wilds. When a walking wild is present, it increments its respective reel Multiplier by +x1, triggering Respins.
The Free Spins counter locks until the end of the feature and ends when no more Walking Wilds are present on the reels. At the end of Respins, the individual reel Multipliers reset. Each respin causes a wave to move each walking wild to the left, until it drops from the reel set.
Free Spins Treasure
In Free Spins, Treasure symbols can grant their values or award additional Free Spins, starting at +1. If Treasure symbols land adjacent to a walking wild, their Cash Prize or Free Spins value is collected and added to the total win or counter.
Alternatively, if a Treasure symbol lands adjacent to multiple Walking Wilds, its prize will be consumed by each one. Lastly, each Treasure symbol that lands on a reel with an active Multiplier will have its prize multiplied.
Our Honest Verdict
Harpoon Heist is one of the more appealing offerings from Light & Wonder, who tend to go for classic aesthetics and formats. Albeit the Pirate theme is a classic choice, it can be perceived in many ways, as seen in Relax Gaming’s Kraken’s Cove and Dead Man’s Trail. However, Light & Wonder has kept to the standard ‘treasure hunt’ algorithm and 5-reel configuration.
Each spin in the base game is interesting in that you never know when the Harpoon Awards Feature will trigger. The best outcome for this feature would be to have a series of Cash Prizes on the reels, particularly Gold Chests and Silver Pots, which hold a significantly higher prize value. During testing, we were only able to collect 1 or 2 cash prizes, but the Harpoon can collect up to 7 in a single spin.
The most exciting element of gameplay is the transformation of regular Wilds into Walking Wilds during Free Spins. In this round, Cash Prizes are collected without the need for the Harpoon Awards Feature. Each Cash Prize that lands adjacent to walking wilds will be automatically collected into your total prize pool. The Respins function delivers more playtime to players by locking the Free Spins counter and allowing extra opportunities to bag more wins. This, combined with the Reel Multipliers, creates a diverse experience for players looking for variety.
