When Orpheus lost Eurydice to the underworld, he promised to revive her…not with force, but with song. After he searches the underworld for his true love, their hearts reunite once again, causing ethereal forces to stir.
Each time Eurydice and Orpheus come together on the reels, they ignite Wilds and Multipliers, whilst their shared presence transforms into a beacon through the thick gloom.
Sadly, Hades does not take too kindly to losing spirits from the underworld. Setting his 3-headed beast, Cerberus, onto their scent, can Orpheus and Eurydice remain in the light?
Rise of Orpheus switches from Arthurian Legends and charges into the Greek Mythology slots category. This theme allows us to transport back to a time of ancient civilisation, where many Gods/Goddesses reigned supreme.

Base Game & Features
Rise of Orpheus is a highly volatile 5-reel, 4-row Video Slot with 20 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations of 3+ matching symbols pay on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, where only the highest-paying win per line is applied.
There are 11 paytable symbols available, including Wilds & Scatters, each representing Characters, Mythology Icons, and Card Suits. Payouts are evaluated between 0.4x and 10x your bet.
As previously mentioned, Rise of Orpheus includes 2 Special symbols, which are responsible for the following outcomes:
- Wilds: Substitute for all paytable symbols, excluding Scatters
- Scatters: Landing a maximum of 3 Scatters will trigger the Free Spins mode
Orpheus & Eurydice Symbols
The Orpheus symbol acts as a Wild, appearing on all reels and substituting for all symbols except Scatters.
In addition, the Eurydice symbol will activate a Global Multiplier of x2 in the base game. Alternatively, in Free Spins, she will reveal a x2 Multiplier which is increased by +x1 for each additional Eurydice symbol that appears or repositions.
The Reunion
When the Orpheus & Eurydice symbols come together, the Reunion Feature triggers. When Orpheus and Eurydice are present in the same spin, the Orpheus symbol will walk towards her, potentially leaving behind a trail of Wild symbols in his path.
However, during Free Spins, the Orpheus symbol is guaranteed to leave behind Wild symbols as he makes his way to the Eurydice symbol.
Wrath of Cerberus
In the base game, whenever 2 Scatter symbols appear on the reels, the Wrath of Cerberus feature is triggered.
Once active, the two reels with present Scatters will be held, causing all other reels to Respin. This is to allow players the opportunity to land the Third Scatter needed to trigger the Free Spins mode.
Rise of Orpheus Free Spins
Activating the Free Spins mode requires 3 Scatters to land on reels 2, 3, or 4 in the base game, awarding 10 Free Spins.
In this round, there are 4 Levels of the underworld available, whilst players begin on the first Level at the start of the feature. Each level awards +2 Free Spins, whilst Level 4 adds a Eurydice symbol to the reels, which remains sticky for the duration of the feature.
During Free Spins, an Orpheus symbol remains sticky on reel 5 at the start of the feature. After this, he will move to a new position on the reels. Between levels 1, 2, and 3, Oprheus will move 1 position to the left. However, during level 4, Orpheus will transfer to a random reel position.
If the Reunion Feature triggers on levels 1, 2, or 3, the combined symbol will transform into a single Orpheus symbol before it moves to a new position. Alternatively, in level 4, the separated symbol will reveal an Orpheus & Eurydice symbol.
Furthermore, each Wild symbol created by the Reunion feature adds +1 to the Wild Meter. Filling the meter to its desired amount will award +1 Free Spin, respectively. As the Wild Meter progresses, it becomes harder to fill. The maximum number of spins to be awarded is 20.
Our Honest Verdict
Rise of Orpheus ignites the ancient tale of true love and bravery between Orpheus and Eurydice, through stunning visuals, high-quality graphics, and intense sound effects. Orpheus is willing to sacrifice it all to save the love of his life as he battles against Hades, the God of the underworld (who said chivalry & romance were dead?)
Whether his heroic efforts paid off is anyone’s guess, but Play’n GO has kept the story alive through engaging features and an epic Free Spins mode. In the base game, the individual Orpheus & Eurydice symbols are destined to find each other on the reels via a unique Reunion feature.
On their own, they have significant value on the reels, but it’s when they come together that they are at their most powerful. Orpheus is responsible for the appearance of Wilds and Eurydice reveals a Global Multiplier of x2.
During Free Spins, love prevails once more when the pair come together, which guarantees a trail of Wilds when Orpheus makes his way to his dearly beloved. It’s a simple feature that mimics the Toro & Matador function from ELK Studios’ exclusive Toro series of slots.
All in all, Rise of Orpheus is a standard release from Play’n GO with minimal features and high capabilities. The game mechanics are simple yet powerful enough to deliver 30,000x in max win potential.
