Betboo Operational History
Betboo was a Latin American betting brand with a long history in the region, operating across Latin America from the early 2010s before relaunching in Brazil under the country’s regulated .bet.br regime. It ran on the betboo.bet.br domain, and the review period identified Entain plc as the group behind the brand.
The Brazilian operation was run by Ventmear Brasil S.A. (CNPJ 52.868.380/0001-84) and authorised by Brazil’s Ministry of Finance, through the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, under Portaria SPA/MF nº 247 of 7 February 2025 within the Law 14.790/2023 framework. That single authorisation was shared with sportingbet.bet.br, which sat alongside Betboo as its sister brand.
Rather than a pure casino site, Betboo paired a casino with a sportsbook-led platform, both under one account and login. That dual identity shaped how the product was built, from the lobby’s game tabs through to the promotions that ran across both sides.
The operation came to an end in October 2026, when Provisional Measure 1.394 prohibited fixed-odds betting and online casino games in Brazil. Licensed operators had to make their sites and apps unavailable within ten days of the measure’s publication, and betboo.bet.br now redirects to the federal government’s block page. This wasn’t a commercial decision by the brand: its Brazilian licence and site were ended by the measure itself.
How to Withdraw Funds From a Closed Casino
If you held a balance at Betboo when the site went offline, Brazil’s rules set out how that money should come back to you. Under Provisional Measure 1.394, operators could not accept new deposits from 25 September 2026. Bets still open when the site went offline were voided, with the full stake refunded and no deductions, and prizes on bets already settled had to be paid.
From there the process runs through the banking system. Within two days of taking the site offline, the operator had to secure the money owed to players and send its banks, payment institutions and the SPA a list of each player’s CPF, the amount owed and the account the deposits came from. Your bank or payment institution then had seven days to refund you by transfer to an account in your own CPF, preferably the account your deposits came from.
Money that can’t be returned that way doesn’t disappear. It’s moved to a dedicated account at Caixa Econômica Federal, under Ministry of Finance supervision, so it can still be paid to you later. The SPA also keeps its supervision powers over the period when the operator was authorised.
Our advice is practical. Watch the bank account linked to your deposits, and keep your own records: your CPF, deposit receipts and account statements. If the money hasn’t arrived, contact the operator’s customer support team. We can’t give a date for every refund, and we won’t claim that every player has already been paid.
Why Do Online Casinos Close?
Casinos close for a mix of reasons, and it’s worth separating them, because closures get reported the same way whatever the cause. Some operators simply can’t sustain the cost base. The measure has the force of law immediately, but it still needs approval from Brazil’s Congress and a challenge is pending at the Supreme Federal Court, so the market’s longer-term shape is genuinely open.
What Betboo Offered While It Was Open
Betboo offered a casino and a sportsbook under one account on the betboo.bet.br domain, with lobby tabs for Slots, Crash Games, Table Games, Bingo, Game Shows and Live Casino, plus a search bar.
On the casino side, one Brazilian affiliate reported a slots library of more than 2,700 games, a figure we treated as approximate rather than exact. The range was anchored by Pragmatic Play and NetEnt. The live casino was powered by Evolution Gaming, with Portuguese-speaking dealers on live roulette, blackjack and baccarat, alongside game shows including Crazy Time, Mega Wheel and Monopoly Live. RNG table games covered roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker variants, and the crash line-up included Aviator, JetX, Spaceman and Lucky Jet, with bingo and virtual sports alongside.
The sportsbook led with football, covering the Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil, plus basketball, tennis, volleyball, esports and Formula 1 among the other sports. Bet combos, player prop markets billed as ‘Bingos’, cash-out and live in-play betting all featured.
There was no welcome or deposit bonus. Instead, the site ran seasonal and limited-time casino promotions tied to specific games, jackpot and prize-drop events on selected slots, and enhanced odds on chosen sportsbook markets. No VIP or loyalty tier was documented.
Payments ran through Pix. Deposits were instant from R$5, with no fees flagged by third-party sources, and withdrawals also started at R$5 with no fee, marketed as fast, from minutes to a couple of hours. A standard bank transfer route existed as well, though its details were never well documented.
Mobile play came via a native Android app distributed as an APK. There was no native iOS app, so iPhone users added a home-screen shortcut through Safari and used the responsive mobile site, which covered the whole product including Pix deposits and cash-out. Support was available around the clock through live chat in Portuguese, reached via the site’s Ajuda & Contato section.
Registration asked for name, date of birth, CPF and contact details, with identity verification to follow. The account area provided deposit limits, self-imposed account limitation through the settings, and self-exclusion as responsible gambling tools.
