Betsson Casino Review
Betsson closed permanently to UK players as of June 2026, following confirmation that it no longer serves players in Great Britain. We can no longer recommend it. The Betsson brand itself still trades in other countries; only its UK operation has ended.
This page is now a record of Betsson’s time in the UK market: its operational history, how to withdraw any remaining funds, why online casinos close, what the site offered while it was open, and where to play instead.
The UK site was run by Zecure Gaming Limited, part of the Betsson group, under UKGC account number 56427. One caution: closed casino domains can be re-registered by anyone, so verify any operator’s licence on the UKGC public register before depositing.
Betsson Operational History
Betsson’s UK operation sat inside an international gambling group. The parent company, Betsson AB, is listed in Stockholm and runs casinos and sportsbooks across Europe and the Americas, holding its main licences in Malta.
In the UK, betsson.co.uk was operated by Zecure Gaming Limited, a Malta-registered company in the Betsson group, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 56427.
The site shared its licence, its platform and its Power Bar rewards system with Rizk, a casino Betsson acquired from Gaming Innovation Group in 2020. The two brands also ran similar bonus rules.
Betsson had already cut its UK presence back hard once before. In October 2020, the group announced it was consolidating its UK business around a single brand, Rizk, and closed eight UK-facing brands.
It handed three of its four UK licences back to the UKGC with immediate effect and described the UK as roughly 3% of group revenue. UK regulatory change, it said, required extensive investment in technology, compliance and marketing that was not sustainable with its UK setup.
betsson.co.uk nonetheless continued as a live UK casino on the Zecure licence into December 2025.
The UKGC register records that licence, valid from 12 February 2020, as surrendered on 22 June 2026, with betsson.co.uk and rizk.com now listed as inactive domains on the account.
Rizk, the only other casino on the licence, has since left the UK too, so the Betsson group no longer runs any casino here. Betsson has not published a reason for its final UK exit.
How to Withdraw Funds From a Closed Casino
If you still hold a balance in a Betsson UK account, the closure doesn’t erase it. Betsson was a UKGC-licensed operation, and a licensed operator winding down is required to return customer funds within a reasonable timeframe.
The practical first step is to contact the operator directly, using any email address or correspondence tied to your account. [email protected] was the address listed on Betsson’s UK terms pages.
Your data rights survive the closure as well. Under GDPR you can ask for your account data to be deleted, and if a company has been dissolved, the Information Commissioner’s Office is the UK body to raise it with.
For a dispute, start with the ADR provider named in Betsson’s original terms and conditions. IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, is the usual UK example of that route. GAMSTOP self-exclusion, meanwhile, continues to apply across all UKGC-licensed operators.
Why Do Online Casinos Close?

What Betsson Offered While It Was Open
Betsson UK’s archived terms pages give a clear picture of what was on offer. The site provided slots and a live casino, with the live lobby carrying Evolution game shows such as Crazy Time, Monopoly, Lightning Dice and Dream Catcher.
Its signature mechanic was the Power Bar, which filled as you placed bets. Prizes were claimed from a Rewards section and ran from free spins and £1 Super Spins to plain cash.
The wager-free side was distinctive: Free Money prizes and cashback chips were paid straight into your cash balance, with no wagering attached, so they were withdrawable immediately.
Reload bonuses were a different story. Casino reloads carried 45x wagering on the bonus amount, and live casino reloads carried 50x. Both sit well above the 10x maximum UK-licensed casinos may set today.
While a bonus was being wagered, the maximum bet was £5, and table and live games contributed only a small share towards clearing it. Player support ran on live chat and email.

We confirmed this closure on 10 October 2026 using three checks. First, the live sites: from a UK connection, betsson.co.uk shows Betsson’s own message, ‘Sorry about this but BetssonUK is not available in the country you are currently located’, and betsson.com redirects to a similar notice.
Second, Betsson’s own statements. The group’s gaming-licences page listed the United Kingdom in its September 2025 version, but the August 2026 version no longer does. Third, the UKGC public register, searched by domain, which records the Zecure Gaming licence as surrendered.
