PlayUZU closed to players in Brazil in October 2026. We can no longer recommend it. The brand’s Brazilian site was taken offline under Brazil’s ban on fixed-odds betting and online casino games.

The Brazilian site was run by Skill On Net Ltda, the Brazilian company of the SkillOnNet group. One caution is worth adding here.

PlayUZU Operational History
PlayUZU went live in Brazil in 2025 alongside its sister site BacanaPlay. Both brands were run by Skill On Net Ltda, the Brazilian company of the SkillOnNet group.
Both sat under the same authorisation: Portaria SPA/MF nº 374 of 24 February 2025, issued by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting at Brazil’s Ministry of Finance. BacanaPlay was the only sister brand, and it was caught by the same block, so it closed in Brazil too.
The site ran entirely in Portuguese and banked in reais through PIX. Its identity was built around free spins without wagering requirements and cashback on every bet, presented on a clean white background with blue and purple accents. There was no sportsbook.
PlayUZU’s Brazilian site did not close because the brand chose to leave. Its authorisation and its site were ended by Provisional Measure 1.394, published by the federal government on 25 September 2026.
The measure required licensed operators to make their websites and apps unavailable within 10 days of publication. It also ends every authorisation granted under the previous framework on 25 October 2026.
The measure has the force of law immediately, but it still needs approval by Brazil’s Congress, and a challenge is pending at the Supreme Federal Court. The brand’s own notice says it is monitoring the legal and regulatory developments closely and will announce any further changes through its official channels.
How to Withdraw Funds From a Closed Casino
Brazil’s measure spells out what has to happen to player money, which is not something every closure does. From 25 September 2026, operators could not accept new deposits.
Bets still open when a site went offline are void, and the full stake is refunded with no deductions. Prizes on bets that had already been settled must be paid.
Within two days of taking the site offline, the operator had to secure the money owed to players and send its banks, its payment institutions and the SPA a list of each player’s CPF, the amount owed and the account the deposits came from.
The banks and payment institutions then have 7 days to refund each player by transfer to an account in that player’s own CPF, preferably the account the deposits came from. Money that cannot be returned that way is moved to a dedicated account at Caixa Econômica Federal, under Ministry of Finance supervision, so it can still be paid out later.
What to do in practice: check your bank account first, and keep your own records, including your CPF, deposit receipts and account statements. If the money has not arrived, contact the operator’s customer support. The address our review gave for support was [email protected], though the site is offline and we have not tested whether it still receives mail.
Why Do Online Casinos Close?
Casinos close for a handful of familiar reasons. Some simply cannot sustain themselves: platform fees, game licensing, payment processing, compliance staff and marketing add up, and smaller operators get squeezed out of competitive markets.
Regulatory change is another, and PlayUZU’s case is the clearest example. Brazil’s Provisional Measure 1.394 banned fixed-odds betting and online casino games outright, and every licensed operator had to go offline, whatever its commercial position. Elsewhere, tighter rules push compliance costs up until some operators surrender their authorisation rather than keep paying.
Corporate restructuring plays its part too. Larger groups acquire and consolidate brands, retire the weaker performers, and move players and staff onto sister sites. A regulator can also end an operator’s licence directly for regulatory failures, which forces an immediate shutdown.
PlayUZU’s closure fits the second pattern: a change in the law, not a decision by the brand.
What PlayUZU Offered While It Was Open
The Brazilian site was a casino-only offering in Portuguese, with lobby sections for Cassino, Cassino ao Vivo, Especiais, Surpresas and Outros, a search bar and a curated UZU VIP list, and no filter by provider.
Slots leaned towards Pragmatic Play and PG Soft hits such as Gates of Olympus, Big Bass Bonanza and Fortune Tiger, alongside the full Nolimit City catalogue and games from Relax Gaming, Playson and NetEnt.
The live casino ran on Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, with real-dealer roulette, blackjack and baccarat and game shows including Crazy Time and Deal or No Deal. RNG tables, crash games such as Aviator, scratch cards and bingo filled out the rest.
The cashier was built entirely on PIX in reais. Deposits ran from R$10 up to R$50,000, were instant, carried no reported fees, and had to come from an account matching the player’s registered CPF.
Withdrawals had effectively no minimum, with a R$30,000 cap per cash-out, and typically cleared in around 10 minutes against a stated 2-hour payout guarantee. A selfie-and-ID check applied at the first cash-out, and requests could only be made from the mobile version of the site.
UZUPlus paid cashback on every bet, win or lose, tiered by VIP level. Weekly Pragmatic Play tournaments shared R$2,000 in prizes, players could pick up free bingo cards by wagering R$50, and near-daily free-spin drops landed on selected slots with no rollover.
There was a dedicated Android app on Google Play, no iOS app, and a fully responsive mobile web version. Support ran through 24/7 live chat that opened with an AI assistant before handing over to a human agent, plus email and an on-site FAQ.

Under Provisional Measure 1.394, no fixed-odds betting site is authorised in Brazil, so we can’t point you to a licensed like-for-like alternative. BacanaPlay, the sister brand on the same authorisation, was covered by the same block and closed in Brazil too.

Our Review Procedure for Closed Casinos
We confirmed PlayUZU’s closure on 22 October 2026 from three sources. The first was the brand’s Brazilian site itself, which showed no casino, only the brand’s own notice about its operations in Brazil. We checked from outside Brazil, as we had no Brazilian connection.
The second was the Ministry of Finance’s list of authorised operators, which now covers only the period until the measure took effect. The third was the text of Provisional Measure 1.394 itself.
